Anyone buy a 4runner and leave behind small car?

I am very close to buying a 4 runner. I have driven a G35 6 spd coupe for the last 6 years. Has anyone left something similar for the 4runner? I am wondering if in a few weeks I will want the little car feel again?

I left behind a 350Z which I miss dearly. But then I fell in love with my 4Runner. But I got something sporty to complement the Runner, a Scion iQ. LOL

i used to drive a little tinny 99 acura cl, then got an 01 t4r. this is an awesome trade-up since im 6'4" and could barely fit in the acura. id recommend the upgrade.

Sold my 2002 vw GTI w/135k miles. Only miss the MPG (27.5) really. It was a fun car. And a good reliable car for us. Had it 8 years. Sold it to a co-worker. Drove it last week when we went to lunch and it felt really small. Zippy though.

Don't regret it, but who wouldn't miss a smaller fuel bill?

My g35 and 4runner are rated the samefor fuel economy so I hope I won't see a big change in fuel expenses. I just have always driven some type of little coupe I hope I enjoy the 4 runner. I just feel like a change.

Left behind my 03 Mach 1. Biggest change for me was the lack of power and sound. My Mach had one chamber mufflers you could hear for miles.

I went from a 93 pickup to a 97 4runner, miss my lil truck ;( Sold the girl and truck for 2100$. Worst decision an 16 year could have made then.

08 vw rabbit. Suprisingly great highway car, but with a kid on the way I needed the extra space, so I took the opportunity to finally get myself a T4R. Miss the comfort and zippyness of the vw, but no regrets here.

I was driving a '99 Passat that was a great car (5 spd manual); my daughter has it now and when I get to dive it, it's still really fun to drive.

Honestly, I think you'll miss the speed and handling. I had a Volvo S60 before the 4Runner and 90% of the time when I'm on pavement I miss that car. It ran like it was on rails with no body lean, more than I can say for the 4Runner. However, it wasn't pleasant to get golf clubs into or take camping so I ultimately made the switch. In the end I bought a CBR600RR to commute to work/get a speed fix and that made everything better.

If you liked to drive you car for more than just a cruise, if you enjoyed to take opportunistic corners, and hitting the accelerator just for the fun of it, then you will miss your car. I traded my 05 Mazda RX-8 6spd Grand touring, it had the works in it, for my 02 4runner SR5. I love my 4runner but no SUV can compare to having a nice sporty car. I miss my old car everyday but I love my 4runner because even with the lift, tires, bumper and winch, its still more practical to have on a day to day with my family.

I made a move similar to the one you're pondering. Went from an '03 Nissan 350Z to my '05 T4R and haven't looked back since.

I bought the car in '05 with 12K miles on it and only kept it for a year. I didn't like the car and because of it, have pretty much sworn off Nissan products. Sure it looked good, sounded good, and handled amazing, but it was small little knick-knacky things with it that drove me nuts. Also it wasn't very conducive to my lifestyle at the time because I was playing tournament paintball and was constantly traveling. So I needed the room to haul gear and people and also, it's easier to drive out the some of the fields in a truck.

I did, however, buy a CBR600RR like Glock_19 to sort of quench that speed fetish. Perfect balance of what I needed.

I've owned my truck for over 6 years and have over 160K miles and wouldn't trade out of it for anything. That's the longest I've ever kept a vehicle. I love it more than the day I bought it. It's the first truck I've owned and I don't see myself ever NOT having a truck. Even if I have (additional) cars in the future, I'm a truck man and always will be. It was the right move for me. I came out of a protuned '04 Subaru WRX, so I get where you're going with this. Honestly the Subaru was better in all but the deepest snow. I do miss going wide open throttle in third gear getting onto highways at 80+ and scaring little kids with the exhaust, but i felt like i needed something a bit more mature, plus I got sick of the 5 speed and wasting premium fuel just sitting around in traffic for hours. 4Runner is definitely better for camping and bringing multiple people places, trips, to the beach, biking etc. The downside is that you end up driving all the time
