Anyone Else Waiting for Their New 4Runner

Put a deposit down on a quicksand TRD PRO 06/25.

Spoke with the dealer last week and he said it should be here by 08/19.

Welp just received word that the truck is not here... for 08/19 delivery. Sales guy said 10 days out or more??

Depends... I am assuming it's coming into the port of LAX (if the car is coming from Japan). Once it hits the port, it usually takes a day to fully unload a vessel (might be faster with cars since they roll out the back). Once unloaded, it needs to be brought to rail yard (1-4 days) depending on how fast they can get it dispatched from the port yard. If this is coming into LAX, it could take longer then 4 days because LAX is always backed up with cargo. The rail time itself shouldn't be longer then 1-3 days (as long is it coming from LAX). Then it usually takes 1-2 days to be unloaded and brought to the CFS (container freight service) terminal. From there the trucker will have to pick it up and bring it to the dealer (time can vary, as long as they got all the release paperwork then it shouldn't be too long). Once it leaves the terminal the transit shouldn't be longer than a day.

So in total I am assuming 10-15 days after arrival into port to get to the dealer. I work in logistics and deal with this shit all the time.

Ordered a 2016 Limited on 05/30/2016 and arrived at the dealer on 08/05/2016. Blizzard Pearl with redwood interior, automatic running boards, remote start, and rear sliding cargo tray only. The dealer was upfront and pretty spot on with the order time frame. They didn't accept the build until the 3rd allocation request. Beyond the wait, this was one of the easiest vehicle purchases that I have made. The dealer kept their word on everything that was promised and never misled me about the order process or price agreement.

Didn't arrive until today, so picking up after work. About 30 days between order and delivery. Couldn't say if specifically ordered, or if they jacked it from an unclaimed allotment. Not complaining at all.

Dang though, just over two month's wait. Was that a custom order that the dealer had to order straight from the plant or did they try to find it somewhere in the country?

They tried to find it for me but just couldn't find it in the configuration that I wanted, even with extras on it. The tough part was trying to find the color combination that I wanted with automatic running boards and rear sliding cargo tray. We ended up ordering it the way I wanted, which was the best option for me. The wait wasn't a big deal, as this is a 5th vehicle in a 2 person household.

Well everyone its in. I will be picking it up today at 5pm. This will be my first Toyota and I had to get the Pro once I saw it on the road. Will post pics later.

SO ordered my White TRD Pro on 6/7. It hit port on 7/29 and was told it will take 10 days to process and be delivered. Well not true! We are told it will arrive between 8/15 and 8/19 at the dealer. Lets just say one would think they could give me a definite since this is not a little toy even Amazon is spot on 95% of the time. The wait is killing me for sure but oh well.

By the way the Port in in NY and I live in PA.

I was lucky. One of the local dealers had a black Trail right on the lot.

I drive by a big dealer a few times per week. They usually have none on the lot at all. One day I drove by and there was 5 of them there. they didn't last long.

Now, again, there are none.

Just glad that i have mine!

I have a VIN, dealer says it's 'DUE' on Sept 1st but has no ETA. I am not sure what DUE means. Does that mean DUE to arrive at port as I would think being DUE to arrive at the dealership would be the same as ETA correct?

Just got off the phone with my salesman at the dealership and said that this coming Monday, my order is going to be put through. From there it will be 4-6 weeks. I put my deposit down back in June, so I'm hoping this is the real thing! 17 TRDP in cement. I'll update you guys on Monday

Got mine last night. 1 mile on the ODO. Between test drive, walk around and paperwork, maybe 30 minutes time.



It's awesome. Well worth the wait.

A '17 being delivered in 4-6 weeks? My perception of the consensus around here is that we won't see them until at least December or January, maybe longer. I'll be curious to see how it turns out.

^ Nice! Even came a day early! My truck was in production the same week as yours, landed in Portland on July 25 but still not here yet. I guess shipping to the midwest takes much longer to get here

Does anyone know at one point a VIN number is assigned to a build? In previous purchases, (other car company), the VIN was issued at the time the car was built.

The reason I ask is, I have a VIN now, does that mean my 4Runner has already been built? Just waiting for a vessel to the US? Is there a way of tracking vessels here?

I'm waiting.. It's been at my local dealer since Friday but it came in too fast and I was unprepared.. Hopefully tonight if I can get my trade in prepped.
