Just bought a 06' SE 4X4 V8 3 weeks ago. I just turned 1000 miles and am starting to notice some vibration/noise in the gas pedal, steering wheel, and floorboard. It could be coming from the exhaust system causing some noise and vibration under acceleration. Its like a high pitched humming noise and vibratino that I can feel and am hoping that this is normal. Can anyone else verify this? The tires/wheels are balanced perfectly. Its the exhaust (I am assuming), but it just doesn't seem like a "smooth" throttle under heavier acceleration.
Anyone experience slight vibration in pedal and floor under accleration?

Yep, very common trait. My 4Runner does it, as well as the 2 GX470's I had.
The 2 most common irritating things about the GX / 4Runner are the clucky driveline and the slight vibration under acceleration.
The vibration goes away as the RPMs climb, I think around 2500 or so.
Lexus addressed both issues to reduce (but not elimiate) those two things.
unless I am wrong, I think Toyota takes the stance as it being normal.
While it is annoying, the 4Runner is still the best mid-size SUV out there.

I definately agree. I can definately handle the vibration/noise because I know it will last forever. And, its not that bad! I guess I am a little anal and want my 4Runner to run as smooth as possible. The first thing I did at 500 miles is change ALL fluids to Mobil 1 synthetic. I was so scared because I thought maybe the vibration was do to my changing fluids. But, its great to know that it is normal. Oh well, I am sure that I wont even notice it after timeTRZ06 said:

I want to resurrect this thread to see if anyone was able to solve this issue or at least knows what causes it.
What once only occurred for me at certain RPMs (~2500-3000) now happens in the whole range after I put on some wheel spacers (lol). My wild guess is the tires were absorbing some of the vibration before but with the addition of wheel spacers that dampened the effect.
For me it's not a vibration like tires out of balance, but much more slight as the OP described. Kind of like holding an electric toothbrush but more intense ofc. Can feel it in the gas pedal, steering wheel, and floorboard. It is in tune with the RPMs and only occurs when it's in gear. i.e. If I'm accelerating at speed I feel it but if I put into neutral it goes away even if I rev the engine. Makes me think it's some driveline issue?
