Anyone got a pic of BFG KO2 275/70R17 on your 4R without lift?

I still wonder if the 285 C rating would have been a better choice, but I just didn't want to mess with potential rubbing and the possibility of a body mount chop, and the 275 Es only weight about 5 lbs. more than the 285 Cs.

I have the KO2's in 275 E, and I hate the ride, even aired down to 40 psi. I would gladly trade for a C rated KO2.

Has anyone regretted going with the 275 and gone back down to 265?

Also anyone have a SR5 with 275 with not lift? Looks like most of the pics are of trails in this thread.

Is the body of a trail any different than the SR5? Larger wheel wells? Does the trail sit higher up off the ground?

Largely based on this thread and the fact that I may be waiting a bit to get my suspension upgraded, I decided to go with the 275s instead of the 285s. Got a killer deal (thanks to the thread alerting me to the bi-annual Discount Tire ebay sale) and was able to sell my OEM tires for $300 the same day I got these installed.

Initial impressions are that the heavier tires definitely are a drag on acceleration, but they look amazing and are actually quite a bit more comfortable than the stock Dunlops, even in the E rating. You could try getting a local Discount Tire store to match the promotional price...that's what they ended up doing for me because I actually bought mine locally a few days before the ebay sale started. They just credited me the difference over the phone when I asked them to match the price. Or you could always try the 285/70/17 in C load rating...

That’s actually a pretty good idea. Definitely worth the phone call. The 285s are just more than a realistically need. And the 275s will allegedly fit pretty well until I get some bilstiens. Thanks for the idea

Yes, the 275/70/17s fit perfectly on my stock 2018 TRD Offroad with no rubbing whatsoever. Like you, I didn't want to risk the 285s not fitting without further modification and/or a new suspension that I likely won't be able to swing for a while yet. Very happy with them.

Just a heads up, I had tried to buy a set of the 275 KO2s as part of the Discount Tire Direct Ebay sale but they were out of 275/70/17s.

I just decided to check back and they must have gotten more inventory because I was able to buy two sets of 2 tires. $440 for two tires plus $36 tax, minus $100 discount = $380 for a pair. $760 later and I have a full set of 4.

You should try airing down more. I cruise at 35psi and it is slightly softer. :car:

Sorry for the delay, crazy couple days at work. Got them installed. Love the looks. Here are some before and after photos.

Ive only driven to/from work so far (5 miles city driving each way), but here are my observations so far.


Pros:
Looks. They look like they were made for the 4Runner. And the 275 looks great. Love the size of the tires.

Sound. Barely a noticeable tire hum. I was expecting much worse.

The Load Range E is not as harsh as I was afraid it might be.

Cons:
Damn they are heavy. Feels like driving through quicksand. Turning the wheel takes a little bit more force.

Let off the gas to coast and you really feel the increase deceleration due to the tires.

Also, I got up to ~50 mph today for a brief time on the highway and the steering wheel started shaking pretty bad. I'll give it a week or two but might have to take it back to DT for a re-balance.

Overall Impression
I really wanted a 275/70/17 KO2 in Load C but it does not exist so I had to go with the E. I knew that Id be sacrificing some creature comforts with the heavier tire and Im certainly noticing them right now. Im still on the buyers high due to how great they look and I hope I stop noticing the 'heaviness' before the high wears off. I am 100% happy with the looks and fit. No rubbing at all on my 2013 SR5 4x4.
