Anyone has the Flowmaster 40 or 50 exhaust on their 5th gen?

I have the Super 44 and it drones something fierce. I would recommend something else for sure.

I had the TRD exhaust on my FJ. I liked it, and they don't make it for the 4Runner.
My son has a Spintech on his XJ, it sounds good and not overly loud.

I am considering the super 50 for my 2018 4runner. How has the drone been since? Would you go quieter if you could do it again? Folks at flowmaster recommend the super 50 because they claim the series 70 is pretty much like stock. I have had the 40 series but this time would like to avoid drone.

The drone is there, but not even my wife has complained about it. I was actually contemplating changing out my Super 50 for a Super 44 or 40 Series since the 4runner is still too quiet for me. I know I am in the minority with regards to wanting even more exterior/interior sound.

Folks i installed the magnaflow 12586 muffler and it great. It sounds nice during throttle and does not drone that much. Only a bit at 2-3k rpms not barely noticeable. During idle it sounds like stock. You cannot tell it has an aftermarket muffler. I am happy with the product but am considering going with something with more growl at idle but not too over the top with highway drone. Any recommendations? Considering flowmaster super 50 or the 50 series delta flow.

I have the flowmaster super 44. Sounds great and louder than stock. Magnaflow or other exhaust brands for the 5th gens are way too quiet for me. They sound exactly like stock so it's a waste of money.

I'm the same way, my STI I straight piped, my JK has a magna flow 6" straight through and a dump before the axle, my last truck same thing but kicked out before the rear wheel on the side...

Trying to grow up a bit with this one, but I'm like.. 32 is the new 16, right! Let er RIP tader chip

I had the shorty Magnaflow...around 18" or so, installed on the stock pipes on my '19. The drone is terrible - anything over 2500 rpm's and you can't carry on a conversation in the cab. I'm gonna have them cut it off and put on a 24", which seems to be what others on this thread recommend.

The flow master 40 is quite loud. Made for muscle cars. The 50 series deltaflow is more mild. Had one on my inline 6 XJ and it sounded pretty good. A little drone but not bad. Had another on a Durango and that sounded great on a V8.
