), and really make the infinities sing. Now that I put the new head unit in, I can't turn it past 22/35 without it being seriously painful.

Brown is only fast when it's coming from somewhere on/near the West Coast, but I'm not going to complain about FREE delivery.
Where did you mount that amp? Seems like it would be kinda overkill with just door speakers. I'm going to see how it sounds with just this head unit's power first. I had plenty of thumping systems back in my single days (I sure loved my Pioneer 3-way 6x9's and when I had room: a box of 12" Cerwin Vegas), but now my fiance doesn't like music very loud in the truck anyway.

This has probably already been said but you might want to consider running new wiring for the door speakers, deck ground and power. At least you wont have to worry about the factory setup interfering, loose wires ect.

New wiring is a good idea, especially if you're running a lot of electronics, adding an amp, etc. But not necessary in most cases.
And he's right about the amp, under the driver's seat is a perfect place for one. Good airflow and out of the way. Add a kill switch in the remote line so you can kill the amp if you ever need to.
Thanks for all the tips guys! I used to install and play around with my systems a lot, back in the day before wiring harnesses. Now I just wanted to do a simple upgrade, for better than stock sound. I just threw in 4 door infinity 6 1/2's and am putting this new stereo in tomorrow. Done in seconds flat, for cheap!

I'm finally getting around to installing it today! The 'how to' thread is for a 2000 and he talks about needing to know about your car alarm when hooking the battery back up.
Do I need to know/do anything with the stock alarm system in my '98 Limited? Doesn't really seem like a real alarm to me, just remote power door locks. What else does it do??
