Anyone have KM3’s 315/70/17 on stock trail wheels?

I currently have 285/70/r17 ko2’s on stock wheels with spidertrax spacers.

I’m going to be due in a few months for new tires and was thinking KM3’s in 315/70/17 on the same wheels.

Just curious if anyone’s running it

I know I’ll have to do a BMC and probably trim a little more fender liner but I think I’d like the extra height and inch of width

Hey, great question. I got my third puncture on an SL Wildpeak in the KOFA area and though I have not had issues elsewhere in 3,020 off-pavement miles enough is enough.

So I ordered a set of Baja ATZ P3. Why would you want an MT around here? The Baja is as tough as any tire (same internals as Cooper STT Maxx but premium compounds and better in sand) while not as obnoxious on road. Also Baja ATZ P 3 has Discount Tire actual average like of 61,000 miles which an MT will not match. Now that is average based on people doing mostly mild stuff if any, but still gives you a good comparison vs other tires.

In my use, anything that is useful north of 40k is super great.

I am not sure I will be willing to tolerate the LTE 3-ply sidewall on pavement but I will try to adjust pressures, maybe even play with rear shocks and/or rear springs changes. If I cannot stand the LTE, I guess I will have to settle for LTC KO2.

I will keep the SL Wildpeaks for trips like Montana.

My ko2’s are e load so I’m used to a heavy tire. I wouldn’t want anything less. The desert rocks have cut up the walls of my tires and they still perform well.

I have about 52k on my tires now and I have heard reviews of the km3’s actually wearing better in the desert so it seems like a decent idea

why not get a wider rim? I have 315/70/17 km3's on a 17x9. Not sure how low you're able to air down on a stock trail rim. they're only like 7.5-8" width right?
