Anyone in the Bay Area willing to check out a runner for me?

I've been looking pretty hard for a good one and just barely missed one yesterday. It was also in the Bay Area. I live in SoCal and don't mind flying up to buy, but if I could have someone put eyes on it before spending $150 on a flight, that would be awesome.

If nothing else, have it towed to a Toyota dealership for a vehicle inspection. I did this for my truck, and it cost me 300, they did the normal stupid stuff like checking lights and the horn, but they also did compression check, and gave me a list of things that needed attention. Then I took that information to the seller and negotiated on price. I got them to accept 5,000 when they were asking 9,100. It was worth the peace of mind, to know what I was getting into.

I am going to call them first thing in the morning and put down a deposit to hold it. If Forrrrest can get over there tomorrow, I will pay you for any gas you use. That would be awesome! And if I show up and the supercharger is gone, I will have to go hunt down T4r4life!!

Seriously all wheel drive on a low rider? Forgive my ignorance, the last p/u I owned was in 1997 and it was a 71 gmc, so I'm sure things have changed but how you gonna do a burnout in all wheel drive:shrug:

OP. Please tread carefully. I would do a search of reviews on that place, it made me think twice about that place. Also did a drive by of the address and saw no signs of any trucks..

I am going to check it out in a few days. I'm totally prepared to walk away if it's not everything it should be. I ran the carfax and it's clean. I plan to check it out thoroughly myself and take it to be inspected. I also put my deposit on Amex so I can dispute the charge if it's a bait and switch and they will take care of it.


The guy I have been dealing with hasn't been particularly helpful but most dealers aren't and they typically know nothing about cars.

I will update once I've seen it on Saturday.

Gramps, I highly advise you to make an apointment with Toyota of Walnut Creek and get them to do an inspection from bumper to bumper if you could look while the tech is there that would be great just tell them that this is a pre purchase inspection.Have Toyota do a VIN check to see the history of the vehicle if it was service at any dealer and find out where it came from as well.

i saw this truck a couple times on craigslist so i believe the owner sold it to this place because he didn't get what he wanted I'm sure....

but the supercharger alone is a big positive....
keep in mind that this supercharger will require maintenance... but only 108k???lp;[']
