Anyone interested in White Rim Trail on Sept 29th an 30th?

So I've been planning this trip to White Rim for a couple of months now and was going to meet up with a friend to run WRT. At any rate he's a surgeon, took on a big case which didn't end up well so he hack to back out and can no longer go. I don't necessarily want to cancel since it's a bucket list trip and didn't want to do it solo either. I still might do it solo but if anyone is interested in joining me on WRT you'd be more than welcome!!! I have campsites and permits reserved for Sept 29th and 30th. First night is at Murphy's Hogsback A and second night at Potato Bottom A which from what I heard are some of the better camp sites.

Anyways if you'd be interested LMK!!! I'd of course cover the permits and food/drinks!!!

Man I'd go but we're already heading out to Goblin Valley and Cathedral Valley this weekend. Have fun tho!

Just got back from there a week ago, so I'd best not ask permission to go again just yet! It's a great trip, and those are two good campsites, although I've heard Potato Bottom can be buggy, so bring the deet. Also Murphy is quite exposed, so be prepared for possible wind.

It's a pretty good drive out to Murphy the first day, so get an early start, especially if you want to make any side trips or hikes. I recommend driving down Lathrop canyon to the river. Worthwhile scenery and not all that difficult. Also White Crack is worth a stop - make sure you walk the 200 yds out to the edge of the cliffs. Awesome view of the Maze and Needles districts.

Don't cancel the trip if you can't get someone to go with you. The road isn't that difficult, and there will always be people coming by within an hour or so, so going solo isn't really risky, just not as fun.

Are you hesitating to go without another vehicle or without other people? Either way I wouldn't hesitate to go solo. I dragged my family out to do White Rim in April. We went without another vehicle but there are several other parties mostly going clockwise and you will keep bumping into the same people. It really is a great trip and 3 days is perfect. Just hope you don't run into anyone coming down hardscrabble hill!
