Big Bear Run on 6/29 - anyone interested?

^Wow Brian that's a pantload of info! Bravo! I noticed on the original post u marked it 'closed'. Thank u! I was thinking about how long it would take to get 10+ trucks through... If(that's if) we head out at 8:30 sharp, it would take at least an hour to reach BPF. I'm thinking probably half will be no-shows, but u never know...

Yeah I didn't know what to do because I don't really consider myself trail leader (just the OP of this particular thread) so I didn't want to step on your toes but we have A LOT of trucks on this list so I just made a decision and marked it closed.
 
If anyone has the Backcountry Pro App and wants my waypoints I can email them to you in a file format that you can import into the app. Again these are not the exact trails we will be traveling this weekend, they are trail intersections ... but I tagged all the ones I could find that are listed in the thread. It also includes about 25+ way-points for Anza-Borrego.

So, I got invited to an old friends wedding at the last minute. I have to be down in Oceanside at 3PM...think I can make it back down in time? :jk: I'll have to make the next run. Have fun guys.
 
Update: I uploaded the GPS nav points file to this site. I think the file type is universal. Feel free to try it with you own NAV apps. Inside the web page linked below should be file DL link.

For me, the whole purpose of the nav points is that I labeled the trail intersections such as 3N16 & 3N11 etc. This allows for instant search and center as well as a visual of approaching turns. I still use a paper map but this helps greatly, especially in places like ANZA B where the turns are rarely marked well. It will show a blue cursor like any other GPS app.

I like Backcountry Navigator Pro because it works great offline.

Lastly ... Be sure to pre-DL the "US Forest Service 2013" map for Big Bear into your app since that is the one with the trail names (3N11 etc). The "CalPo US Topo 24k" map (default, above in Green) does NOT have the trail NAMES.

The good thing about nav points is they stay even when you switch maps. Isn't technology great!

I can't say for sure. With so many trucks people can wheel as long as the want, split off into groups or whatever. I image that at lunchtime the group will stop and consider the afternoon plan.

I have a hunch that given the 90-97 F temps many will want to call it quits after lunch. I have to check with the other guys I'm camping with but I think by about 3pm I would prefer to go for a swim in the lake.

In summary: no idea. Stay as long as you want.

Pimpsta - I think Dlak is out from what he said earlier.
I'm still debating.. I really dont want to f up my ride.. I dont even have sliders and can't afford any damage...

Sounds easy enough but we will see.. PM your number or email and i will let you know by nights end.

Danny, you will be fine. Just stay on the main trail it's basically a fire road. Pimpsta did this trail with us last time due to taking some damage to his RB he decided not to go further than what we did. Bobstrail seems to be going with you guys also. I know for sure he doesn't want to do any damage to his 4r either. Just stay away from any black diamond trails. All have fun,take a lot of pics,stay cool,and be safe.

Thanks Keemo .. I had planned to go but did not get home until 1 AM.. No way i can be up in 4 hours. Any update on your bumper?
