I'm adding some info from the original trip thread started by Quatre Coureur :hatsoff: to this thread since it has the dates.

Quatre Coureur picked the meetup and the trails. I don't know Big Bear very well at all so I will be joining with the group below.

What: Big Bear Run
When: June 29th, meet @ 7:30AM; Depart 8:30 AM Approx.
Where: Meet-up@ the Valero Station 32755 HWY 18, Running Springs 92382

Plan:

As of now the 'planned route will be 3N17 to 3N11C to 3N56 then head south and do 3N08. An alternate will be to head east to 3N61. These are all 'blue sq.' trails. They all can be done in a stock 4RNR with decent rubber

Note: Google maps seems to be weird about that address for some reason. If you search for it, it should be in between Running Springs and Arrowbear Lake, not up north of Running Springs as Google seems to suggest at times.​

My Original Post:
Big Bear Run on 6/29 - anyone interested?
I'm going to Big Bear on Friday night and camping until Sunday.
It will be me and 2 other trucks, we already have the campsite reserved (most sites are fully booked now) and will camp both Friday night and Saturday night, leaving Sunday after lunch. There are 4 of us total.

Plan:
Join up with the group from Quatre Coureur's thread (info above) on Saturday morning. Mountain bike on Saturday evening or Sunday morning.

THanks to Quatre Coureur for picking the trails and meetup spot. I don't really know Big Bear at all so we would have been wandering random trails with just our map.

Thanks Brian for posting a roll call. I was gonna do it next week as the date got closer. Looks like we have a decent group going this time. I've been wheeling Big Bear for about 35 years now and, while I'm not an expert on the area, I do know it fairly well. Our family had a cabin up in Green Valley Lake when I was a kid, so I got pretty familiar with the area over the years.

So far, so good for me to make it. I probably won't get my lift on though. Will anyone have a compressor to air up? I had planned to buy one but I scored a winch today so....no $$ for a compressor.

I usually just air down to 20 for the trails and drive it back into town at 20 psi. Its not a big deal. A compressor would be nice but I don't want to spend the cash.

So far, so good for me to make it. I probably won't get my lift on though. Will anyone have a compressor to air up? I had planned to buy one but I scored a winch today so....no $$ for a compressor.

I have a portable air compressor that is always in my truck. It is powered off the cigarette lighter.

EDIT: How large are your tires? From what the box says, I think it maxes out at about the stock size of our trucks (265/70/16) but I think that is just for quick inflation. Anything bigger would probably just take a few extra minutes.

I just recently picked up an MV50 compressor. I haven't had the chance to use it yet (never been on a trail that I've needed to air-down on), but I'll be bringing it for this trip. Others are welcome to use it as well, just as long as it doesn't overheat! lol
