anyone know how to replace this piece of the rear wiper?

I went to change the rear wiper on a '99 I just bought. As I tried to loosen the nut the entire stud broke off leaving me with just the splined part but with no threads. Does anyone know the part number or where to get a new one?

if you broke the stud that is part of the motor you'll have to replace the motor or may be disassemble the motor and figure out if it is a replaceable part
rear motor assembly pn#85130-35070 is around $240. toyota junkyard or craigslist parting out 3rd gen could be an option.

You'll have to take off the interior trim to replace it. You have to load up on WD40 to get that nut off. I had to use vise grips & lightly tap with a hammer. Finesse over brute force or you can dent the body too. Make sure you use anti-seize when you put it back together.

Drill a hole and use a tap to thread the hole then use a bolt is another way you could fix it.

How do you get the little plastic cover back from that area to even access that nut? Mine is so stiff it will break before coming off.

Thank you! I searched for a few hours trying to find an exploded picture of the liftgate with part numbers and never found that one. Looks like it’s from the fsm. Thanks again I’ll see if I can find a wiper motor!

How do you get the little plastic cover back from that area to even access that nut? Mine is so stiff it will break before coming off.

What I do is take plastic trim pry tools (you can buy them at harbor freight) and I start where ever I can slide the tool in and then gently until one of the red clips pop. It’ll seem like it’s about to break but they’re pretty sturdy.
