Anyone know where I can get a small amount of 3M foam tape?

Subject says it all. Cleaning behind the license plate I noticed there is only 1 piece of foam tape to keep the license plate from rubbing against the paint. Yeah I could go to the dealer, just assuming they'd shrug and maybe give me another dealer license plate frame.

I checked Amazon and all the 3M rolls are 30+ yards long

Try swinging by a body shop, Im sure they would just tear off a piece and hand it to you.

There is a seller TapeCase that sells all different widths/lengths, do you research with the sizes some inexpensive, other can be very expensive for a similar dimension.

All about the ask nicely and you shall more then likely receive and often walk away with a nice tidbit of advice in the process. :thumb:

Also keep in mind not all double sided foam back tape is created equal, 3m makes roughly 3 dozen different flavors, including automotive. I am not an automotive body specialist by any means but I did spend quite few hours researching the stuff to find the most appropriate solution. The item I suggested is one of the thinnest and strongest acylic adhesive tapes available yet still removable.

Of course go ahead and buy whatever you want or wait for someone to reply that uses the stuff for a living.

Or go to a tint shop that does clear bras! They always have a scrap bin of the stuff layin' around, just ask really nicely and they'll give you a few scrap pieces to use! Better than tape if you ask me, it will make sure to keep the paint from ever getting damaged by the license plate! Cut some square pieces for both sides (body and plate) and let the pieces of clear bra rub against each other...
