Anyone painted the SR5 black/grained flares?

So my SR5 black/grained flares are about 4 different colors at this point. I have this idea in my head of going with a green/black/grey theme for the overall build on the exterior of the truck. I was thinking of using the Dupli-color for plastic or the Krylon Fusion to paint them grey and then doing the stock 5-star wheels in gunmetal. I used the Krylon for some interior trim on my Colorado, and it held up for almost 40k miles of hard daily driving. I'm not so sure it would last on the exterior of a vehicle though. I work in a body shop, so I've also got access to all of those materials as well.

So lets see some photos as well as what products you used to paint your SR5 black/grained flares.

I used the Krylon Fusion when I repainted mine. It's holding up real well. I would think a different color would hold up just as well. I took mine off, scrubbed the junk off them, then wiped them down with alcohol. Added
3 coats of paint and put them back on when dry. So far so good.

I used krylon fusion on the flares on my old Frontier. It looked good for a year or two but faded after that. They would have been easy to touch up, I just never got around to it.

You should do a search Shadow as there was a similar thread about painting plastics not to long ago, may be a ton more info, so sorry if this is redundant. Anyhow, I used Rust O Leum "paint for plastics." Worked great on my rear bumper cover, flares, rear tag surround, and front valance. Cleaned all of them with Simple Green first then 2-3 coats. Mine has lasted a year so far without any sign of fading yet... Guess we will see. Hope this helps.
