Anyone put a small LED light bar here?

can't make my own threads yet so I'll piggyback this one.

I'm somewhat interested in an LED bar but I do want to know what that oem metal bar is called or what part number it is. I've had no luck searching for it or any car parts places online.

When doing my retrofit job, I realized that whoever fixed this car up from a fenderbender rigged this and bent the mount out of shape. The other side is a clip, which was double sided taped to the fender. It's causing all types of road noise.
 
I'm currently working on a design for a new piece that replaces the filler sheetmetal panel beneath the headlights. The new piece will house a 6" Rigid Industries SR series light. I should have something to show everyone in the next few weeks.
 
I cant find any of the pics, but I saw someone who put like 5 smalls circular LEDS along that area. It looks really good. If you do it, I suggest this method vs just tacking a strip on there. Something like these pictured...

EDIT: I realized you meant for light output, I was thinking more along the lines of turn signals.

If you're using them as DRL, I suggest going with these from iJDMTOY. The one's I have are rated at 1Watt each and they are amazing. They produce that bright sparkle, at par if not better than the ones found on higher end cars and such...no kidding!

Mine are quite rock chipped so I'm ready to remove them and start drilling. Was just waiting till I replace my head light glass (have holes in both of them from rocks). I like how bright yours are so I would go that way for sure.

Regarding the rocks and my glass.... Should've gotten a bumper with the hoops for the head lights. Then had some tabs welded on them so I could fab up some slotted mesh to bolt to the tabs to cover my lights. Enough to deter rocks, but not block the light output... Able to remove easily if need be. Would've been much easier to make some limb risers also.... Live and learn I guess. :shrug:

Directly under the headlights there is a 10" X 1.75" metal piece that looks easily removed and would leave a nice gap about the size of a small LED bar. Just curious if anyone has used this spot before, I think I have seen it done but can't remember where I saw a pic of it.

I really like the clean look of the bumper and would rather not add clutter to it so the idea of a light bar on each side that could be mounted flush with the headlights is kind of interesting. The flat portion of the bumper extends under that area so a solid mounting surface is already there.

Do anyone know what that metal piece is called and if replaceable?

I am looking to buy a 4Runner and the owner hit something that bent the bumper and that metal bracket is pushed in a bit. Doesn't seem much damage, but was curious if I were to close the deal on the car! Thanks guys!
