It's and '85 with the 3.0 V6 which gives it the unique distinction of being even slower than a DeLorean (albeit better looking). ;-)
There were no 3.0 V6 3VZ-E's in '85.
Unless Doc Brown brought one back from the future..
Hmmm, it says V6 so assumed 3.0. Engine swap apparently then. If so, if it's a 3.0, my comment stands. If it's a 3.4, good to go.
I've been staring at that picture for 10 minutes.. where is the V6 badge?
I Googled for the truck and found the auction site:
1985 Toyota "dream Truck" Back To The Future Marty Mcfly Pickup Signed - Used Toyota Other for sale in Gardena, California | Hotrod Pitstop
And it says:
Location: 90249, Gardena, California

Condition: Used
Make: Toyota
Model: Other
Engine: V6
#VIN: JT4RN50R1F0073701

Bottom line: There was no V6 available in '85. And someone that has no clue, put that ad together.
Apparently you have never heard of an engine swap? My friends '87 Jeep had a 350 Chevy in it and a 350 Chevy was never available in a Jeep right?
But open the hood and lo and behold, there she was, small block Chevy he put in with his own two hands. Smog legal and everything. ;-)
And of course the VIN will come up as an EFI 4 banger. Thats what it was originally.![]()
