Anyone running 16" steel wheels?

I didn't do anything special at all. I just painted them grey and bought different lug nuts. Let me know if you decide to sell your fn's I'm considering getting a set.

Sorry they are 16" with 13WL. I figured they had to work together.

Off topic, how are the Cooper STT Max's? I recently got a set but haven't mounted them yet.

I love them! These are actually the STT, but I believe the STT Max's are just a new marketing name, same exact tire. I've had them for a little over a year and am pleased with them. not too loud, good on the trails

I looked at your build thread and the tread pattern is different then what I got. I have the ST Maxx.

ah okay, interesting. When I bought these I was told they were the same. ha either way, I'm really impressed with them! Cooper seems to be a damn good tire

The sidewall is also different. Read great things about the Coopers I bought.

Whilst removing and replacing the rear wheels for a brake issue, I weighed the steel spare vs. the stock alloy, both with identical new tires on each. The black spare steel wheel weighs 8 pounds more than than the stock alloy three spoke that are native to my 97.
There should be a significant hit to your mileage with 32 pounds more rotating weight.
Personally, I prefer the more industrial look of the steel wheels, but mileage is important as well.

I get around 16 mpg in town, 18-20 highway with steel wheels with 33 MTs. And almost every piece of armor available. The only difference they have made is how much I complain when I have to rotate my tires.

Just want to confirm that I should use Acorn style lug nuts on these correct ?

As for center caps, push thru types are what I need ?

I found some for a 2000 Tundra for $56 each and $12 shipping total. Not bad?

I have the basic steel wheels like these on my Wrangler and love the look. The factory wheels on the 99 Limited are just not doing it for me.

Ah, I forgot about FJ Cruiser steelies. Should be pretty easy to find. These powdercoated a dark silver (couple shades darker than Thundercloud)? Hmmm.

Anyone have any experience running these with the 231mm Tundra Brakes? I'm looking at a set, I have two sets of 16" wheels, one with studded snows. But thinking of getting a set of 17" FJ steelies because used or barely used, cheap 17" tires in good condition seem so abundant!

Ive got the procomp 52 series. I ended up needing a spacer in the front to make them fit over the calipers (did the 1/4" spacers"). I love how these look, but If I did it again i'd probably go with the 69 series alloys. I wish there were more plain looking alloy wheels... these blingy wheels with bolt heads glued all over them look terrible to me.
