Anyone running 255/80/17 Tires Pizza Cutters

Finally ordered 5 ST/Maxx Pizza Cutters yesterday. Got my lift installed and I am ready. I called local Big-O who I have bought previous tires from and he called Cooper and they said they had 7 left! Price was too high vs TireCrawler (+/-40%) before freight etc so I ordered from them. They didn't indicate they were on back order but I will believe it when they are delivered. Anyway if you are considering this size do not hesitate because Big-O guy said no more for 6 months(I know possible sales tactic). Been wheeling w stock Dunlops on our sharp rocky Sierra trails and I was always concerned about cuts etc. I figure on getting about 1.25" additional clearance from new rubber. I think these will be a good tire for me in our snowy winters.--Dave

I have been running these tires since June and love them.

Is there any reason you did not buy from Discount Tire? They match price and you get the warranty that covers road hazards such as sharp rocks.

Most of the tire stores I called told me they couldn't get these, out of stock. One guy said when they see this it usually means they are discontinuing the size. ...Hope not. Long story short I was able to get them from discount tire, they only had 4 in the entire system. I wanted 5. Took a week to get them in. They are awesome, so snatch them up if they are available.

When I compared Discount vs TireCrawler price was about the same but TireCrawler ships FedEx vs freight.
I am still concerned that they actually have 5 in stock for me. I will believe it when I get shipping confirmation.--Dave

I ordered 4 from Discount Direct, along with a new set of wheels. Decent price..but shipping over here to Germany was spendy. 70lb limit per package:/

Sergio, we currently have 735 in our distribution centers that are available to our dealers. We are also producing another 816 tires to add to this total. This time of year inventory will move fast when the winter season really gets into action. This tire is not discontinued. Thanks, Les

For you guys running this size (st maxx 255/80/17) will they fit with a daystar 2.5/1.5 spacer lift on a 2011 4runner with stock wheels?

Really want this size but if I have to drop back to 255/75/17 I will.

I'm running bilstein 5100's on the highest setting, with a Daystar 1.5" spacer out back. Additionally, I have the spidertraxx 1.5" spacer on all 4 corners. Minor rubbing on the mud flaps, and front bumper at full lock, in reverse. Going to do some more heating of the mud flap, and trimming of the bumper to alleviate the last bit of rubbing.

Trust me when I say that you'll be much happier with the look of the 255/80.

The minimal amount of massaging necessary is really worthwhile.
If you remove the mudflaps, there is zero rubbing.

I believe you are correct, I really want the 255/80/17 and discount tire told the st maxx is cut short, if I was to get the 255/75/17 they would be almost same height as my factory 265/70/17 that are on there now and I have about an inch of space at full lock with them if that makes any sense, I don't have mud flaps now.

Nice. Hopefully it's just the plastic. Reason I asked was the mud flaps at the rear of the front wheel-well are more or less a cover for the body mount. I'm sure it'll be evident shortly.. hope its an easy fix

After heating and flexing the mud flap as much as possible, it gave me clearance, but I wasn't totally satisfied.
I ended up cutting out a section 1" tall by 3" wide at the mid way point, on the passenger side mud flap. The rubbing is completely gone.

There is about 1/2" of clearance between the tire and the body mount at full lock. As the tire wears, this gap will of course increase.

Anyone do any serious wheeling in these? how do they react to low PSI?
