I don't recall seeing these being used by anyone on here, but I'd be wary of Moog. They are a Federal Mogul brand now. I don't mean to step on toes, some guys still swear by Moog, but they are a "Freedom Group" style of business. Not sure how you can cheapen springs, but I'm sure they'd try.
Eibach, OME, and Toyota springs are the go-to's.

I just installed the 80141 a couple weeks ago. For $36 from Amazon vs $100+ I'd say it's worth it.
Not hard to do at all, especially if you aren't doing the shocks too

I've had the 81041 for close to a year now with good results, AFTER the 1.5" Daystar spacer on driver side to mitigate the "taco-lean."

Any word on the 81088?
Im about to order the OME 1-1.5" springs for the front and if this is a decent alternative for $100 less I'd consider it.

Isn't the lean because one spring is slightly taller/beefier and meant for the driver side due to the weight of the gas tank? If that spring goes on the passenger side, then it'll be off

After the positive replies, I pulled the trigger. $90 for the set is worth giving it a try.

The pair of springs you'll get from Moog will be the same height but Toyota OEM springs are different height to compensate for the driver side weight. So when using Moog, the Daystar spacer will go on the driver side since you'll be leaning that way.

I did ALOT of research on MOOG springs and various other brands of stock coils. I was not impressed with the reviews on MOOG so I avoided them. It appears that once loaded heavy then the springs start to sag. Those who don't load em usually keep the height.
I ended up going with OME mediums and just got em today. I'm hoping that since I already have a 99 that I net an inch or so over my 99 talls. Mine held their height but sagged with any weight back there.

Toyota springs, front and back are different for driver side and passanger side
to compensate for the driver side weight difference ( driver, gas tank and battery). Some after market will come with spacers.

I have moog springs in the back. I have had then weighed done pretty well multiple times including a trip from Seattle to El paso. Still only settled 1/4 of an inch and it has been over a year now. For the money I don't think they can be beat for someone looking to achieve a small "highlander" lift like I was. The ride is much better than the factory springs although I did replace the oem shocks that had 275000 on them with kyb gas adjusts so not a good comparison there.

After I replaced my saggy OEM's with Moog I was leaning about 1" on the driver's side. After the 1.5" Daystar spacer it's now about a 0.25" (using measuring tape) which is not visually noticeable. The 1.5" spacer gave me about a 0.75" lift which was enough to level it out.

Not a 1.5" difference specifically in the spring height, but if the spring is coiled tighter or looser (even slightly) it can change the sturdiness of the coil overall.
A full tank of gas (18.5 gallons) weighs 114lbs (not including the tank itself or skid plate ) and is pretty much right over the coil. Not to mention that the driver's seat always has someone in it (although the driver is obviously further forward than the gas tank. The coil needs to be slightly sturdier to make up for that extra weight. At least in my mind.
Now, I measured my coils before I put them in, and couldn't definitively tell which one was taller (coils are pretty difficult to measure) so I just eyeballed it and I think I did it right.

I have the 81041's in the rear and have been happy. They dont hold a ton of weight and they do tend to sag even with just a couple people in the back. Cant beat them for the price though.
My fronts have 160k on the (96) and with the Moogs in the rear I have a slight rake. Always wondered if combined with the front if there would be rear sag.

I though about going with MOOG, but decided against it after seeing some bad reviews from others on the forum, especially 4th Gen owners.
I ended up going for ACDelco replacements from Rock Auto. They were a little bit pricier than Moog, but not by much. The cool thing about the ACDelco is that the springs were marked Driver and Passenger, like OEM springs. Since ACDelco is OEM for GM vehicles, that makes sense.
*Also, I didn't get the 99 Tall springs, so no comparison there. I got springs for a FJ Cruiser. Lifted the front a few inches and that's exactly what I wanted.

My 99 talls that I've yet to install and purchased brand new from Toyota are the same exact height.
Part number is 48231-35210
Tag on the left says "6C11" at the bottom. The right one says "6A18".
Am I missing something?

I bought the MOOG out of impatience, but spotted some OME's on Kijiji, never used and in original box for $80 less than original retail. I snapped them up. When I compared the 2 sets side by side I'm glad I didn't use the MOOG's... they look like twisted heavy wire.... I resold them...
