Anyone tried Yokohama Geolanders?

I may be able to get a brand new set for about $300. Would you run these for $300 or pay more and get the duratracs? These are a 275/60.

FYI.... Link didn't work for me but based on the URL its a 275/60/17. That tire will be 0.4 in wider than stock but overall diameter will be 1.6in or 5.1% smaller than stock.

I ran these a few years back. Super soft sidewalls, a little squirmy in the corners. Didn't like how they felt on grooved concrete bridges. They did do ok in the snow and offroad, just not much confidence in them due to the thin sidewalls. For street driving, they are an ok tire since you can get them so cheap.

I had a set of Geolanders on my RAV4. They sucked!!!!

The handling was very soft, rain traction was poor, snow traction was bad. I replaced them after only 4 months with a set of Firestone Destination LE tires which were dramatic improvement.

I had two sets on my Tundra, I liked them but then I did 100% on-road driving. I'm probably going to go with them once my Dunlops need to be replaced.

Were you running the P-metric or LT version? The LTs have plenty stiff sidewalls, so if you are comparing them to other LT tires they are going to seem soft. I ran them on my last 4runner is an LT265/70/17 and they didn't feel soft at all. Comparable to nitto grappler or a BFG AT in LT sizes, and way stiffer than the dunlops that are on the stock 4runner

They are a good tire in LT but I would pass either way.

They are the wrong size and you probably won't be happy if you're considering duratrac's, at3's, atko etc

Depends what you do most of...but they are still wrong size
