Anyone wanna take a stab at one of these problems?

Hi all,

I have an 05 4Runner Limited 6cyl and I have a few problems. I've tried a search on the board for some solutions but haven't really found any.

1) Horn not working. During the world cup I was honking my horn...a lot. It stopped working. The panic button triggers one of the horns but it sounds very sickly...like it has a frog in it's throat. The fuse keeps blowing as well.

2) Wipers won't work on 'intermittent' only low and high.

3) Tailgate wont open. When I pull the button I can hear the motor work but it wont release the door.

If anyone has any ideas it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

1.possible bad horn, relay or switch.

2) Wipers won't work on 'intermittent' only low and high.

2.sound like the switch

3) Tailgate wont open. When I pull the button I can hear the motor work but it wont release the door.

3. try pushing the door closed when you press the button and then pull, then when you get it open, adjust the latch.

If anyone has any ideas it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Sounds to me like you blew your horn...:jk: If its blowing fuses you possibly shorted your horn circuit through your horn. Unhook your horn wires and replace the fuse and press the horn button and see if the fuse pops again. If not just replace your horns and you should be ok.

2) Wipers won't work on 'intermittent' only low and high.Possibly your contacts are dirty.

There are 3 screws that hold the steering wheel column cover on. Remove those screws and remove the plastic cover. Tow more screws hold on the wiper switch. Remove the connector and then the screws and slideout of its spot. Use a Q-Tip and some electrical contact cleaner to clean the metal contacts. If that doesnt work you need a new switch. At local parts store about 45 dealer about 145.

Sounds like the bushing that hold the rods are worn out or you might have go something stuck in the latch while closing the door. (know from experience) Roll your back window down and try to open the door and pull real hard. Reaching your hand through the back window to pull from as not to brake the outside plastic handle. Thats how I did it and it too some force and found the end of the dog leash caught in the latch.
