Anytime Camera w/Multi Input Switcher

Some time ago, I added a simple diode to the reverse wire and a spst switch to initiate an anytime camera mod. This was especially helpful for me on several levels, and I've enjoyed using it. I've wanted to add several other inputs and was finally able to do so over the weekend.

I aimed for something that was basic and employed the use of a switch between the video inputs. I saw this product during my research and really liked it for its simplicity and the fact that no power was needed to run it. However, I didn't like the switch that was installed on it, so I opened the door, gently removed the wires soldered to the switch, and attached some longer wires and ran that to the switch panels to the left of the steering column. I had a spdt switch from oznium.com laying around, connected everything and viola!

I used my A input as the reverse camera, and for now, during downtime in the car, used the B input for an iPod video connection, with the two audio channels running to the AUX input to my PA-20TOY.

In the future, I'll probably buy another one of these and mod it the same way, and add a front facing camera, and perhaps a camera over the infant car seat during those solo driving times when I can't see if the little one is asleep or not.

Not sure if anyone cares about this on a factory system anymore, given what these new ones can do, but I'm happy with the result.
