Anyway to keep lights on all the time without enabling JBL nighttime mode

I'm not that good at remembering turning on lights at night, and I don't want to get pulled over for not having lights on.

My JBL system turn on night mode when I turn on lights.

Is there any mode that I can make the lights stay on all the time, without the night mode? My last choice scenario is to just install automatic lights.

Honestly, if you can't remember to turn your headlights on at night are you really responsible enough to navigate a vehicle around safely. Do you remember to stop at red lights? Sorry if this is too harsh but let's get a grip here.

I have to agree with mace. My runner is the first car I've had in over ten years that requires me to manually turn on the lights. It's pretty easy to tell when I start it that they're not on - and easier yet to turn the knob on the stalk that turns them on.

But, boy! That damned wheel that I have to adjust to get the inside display right for night-time driving just wears my thumb out! I mean, seriously... I have to turn it up in the daytime, turn it down at night... it never ends!

Once you have auto for so long, you start to forgot you need to check for headlights.

It's nice that they turn on for you but you still need to take a second to verify that they are actually on. What if the system failed or both bulbs burned out?

I hate to admit it but its true. No long ago I had a rental without auto lights and it simply befuddled me on why it was so dark outside.

I also hate to admit it but there is no way I'm responsible enough to do many things safely so I guess both of you are correct. :yo:

Just leave them on all the time. When you stop and leave the vehicle - they will turn off automatically. For years Canadian cars have been driving around with the headlights on all the time. I think it's the law there and some cars do not even have a switch with an off position - at least the last couple of rentals I had didn't.

I forgot about that. Also, if you hit your lock button on the fob twice it turns them off (if you can't wait the 30 seconds for the auto feature to do it).

I get the other problem, I want it to be in day mode when I have lights on during the day because the crappy little DRL's don't make you as visible out here in the mountains when the sun is beating down on the snow and in your eyes.

There's a switch on the infotainment thingy, but I'd rather there'd be a true DRL option for this truck that doesn't use the wimpy turn signals.

I am not sure if you are making a statement or asking a question, but if you happen to be asking...you can keep your headlights on in the daytime and just rotate the interior light dimmer knob to all the way bright (it will click into the max brightness position). This way your headlights will be on and the interior gauges and stuff will be at full brightness (just like when your headlights are off)

I am not sure if you are making a statement or asking a question, but if you happen to be asking...you can keep your headlights on in the daytime and just rotate the interior light dimmer knob to all the way bright (it will click into the max brightness position). This way your headlights will be on and the interior gauges and stuff will be at full brightness (just like when your headlights are off)

Canada doesn't require headlights be on all the time it just requires DRL. I can turn my headlights off just like the rest of you.

Oh I see what you're talking about, have you tried making it brighter using this adjustment feature? I know what you mean though, sometimes the sun just overpowers it, oh well.
