Anza-Borrego family fun trail run weekend

I do plan to purchase through Discount eBay. I was leading towards the STT Pro. The K02s are nice but are priced more. I do like my wildpeaks also, they're nice and quiet and did pretty well I think on our last outing.

The wildpeak is pretty good but if you're going to cont offroading, which I think you are, I would go with the STT pro. Better bite on dirt and rocks as well as mud passing through the thread.

Lots of guys like the STT Maxx. The Pro is a straight mud terrain while the Maxx is a hybrid. Works well for a DD over a straight mud tire.

That being said I'm pretty damned happy with my KM2s and I think you will be too.

hey fellas,

need your advice on tires. Discount is running a deal now and i'm torn between cooper stt pro, cooper at3, wildpeaks (what i run now. Getting 285/70 instead), or k02s. I'm leaning towards the stt pro mud terrains but not sure if its overkill. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Lol. She's been with me long enough through a few projects. First is a lancer evolution we bought in 2003 that we still have. Running close to 500hp to the crank. She's not new to these money pits. I work my ass off, 2-3 jobs, to be able play around with these toys. I gotta say that offroading is way more fun than a flat asphalt track.

The pro suspension is 1" taller in the front stock. Im replacing the front spring to get a total of 2" lift and run Wheeler's T13 in the back for 1.5" lift. Hopefully, these will be enough for a while.

Doing the rears myself shouldn't be a problem. I'm still debating about the fronts because of the KDSS.

Fronts are not bad with two people doing the install. My brother and I installed the 6112’s and 5150’s in his 2013 trail with kdss. You want to have the passenger side one notch higher for the kdss lean.

There are some guys over on Tacomaworld going out to Hungry Valley too. Also thought about going up Jawbone Canyon to Lake Isabella and camping. So many decisions...

Tagging along with friends from L.A. tomorow to thursday, to explore from S2 to Vallecoto Crk rd exit, to Arroyo Seco del Diablo, try to make it all the way to where it intersects Arroyo Tapiado and explore mud caves, then back down to Vallecitos Creek Rd and S2. Not sure where to camp yet. Depends on our timing. May just camp along the way.
Grouo will have a couple of Heeps, a 100-Series? and my first-gen. If anyone happens to be there, give us a holler.

We might actually be going back out to Calico this weekend. I've been wanting to explore more of the area besides just the hard stuff. Hungry Valley just hasn't gotten my attention enough to want to make the drive, especially if I don't know anyone that's gonna be there.

November 10th - 12th is the same weekend as the Land Cruiser Surf-n-Turf even out there. Someone else invited me to go that weekend too. Not sure if I want to make the drive an if the wife will want to be gone 3 weeks in a row. I really want to go but not sure if I'll be able to make it. Thanks for the invite! I'll toss the idea around with the wife to see what she thinks.

I talked with her a little the other day about the Pismo trip. She is open to the idea but not looking forward to making the drive 4-5 hour drive. Maybe if I can pull off taking a day off work, the drive might be worth it. When are you heading out there?
