Our group of 4 that continued South to get out stumbled upon a deep mud section. Some had to be pulled out and take the high ground. What was supposed to be a half-hour romp out and toward the 8 West turned into almost 2 hours due to it being pitch black and extremely muddy unexpectedly. To help the imagination a bit.. my tires are 37" and at one point I could barely see the top of them. I was able to power through with the help of my supercharger and lift clearance; snapped a few pics

I wonder if you guys drove into the silt pits/ruts along the railroad, headed south towards the 8. It is the best way to get south to the 8 hwy and dumps you the old cement factory.

That road is fun but it's incredibly dusty (when dry) with several sections of white silt that is over a foot deep at times and finer than sand. After my last trip I changed my oil right away because of paranoia although if it was muddy you have little to worry about. I could see that turning to nasty mud muck though.

Here it is in the daytime two years ago, basically the area has really deep ruts that are a lot of fun to drive (dry), at least one time but man is that silt thin. It gets into your filter, probably your engine. I changed my oil the same week after dining through it. Next time I'll drive around it completely, even in the daytime.

What a weekend! We had a great time and it was a pleasure meeting all of you. Thank you for organizing and guiding the run and for putting up with us newbies to the group. Now I have to do some soul searching this morning to find the motivation to clean all of the mud! lol

Here's some mud aftermath. I just got home so Im taking a nap and then heading to the car wash. The mud that we ran into was after Diablo dropoff. It was nasty. As much as I hate the duratrac sidewall, they pulled me, mike, and [MENTION=150050]mr1337357[/MENTION] (sorry don't think I caught your name, hahah) out of the slop. It sucked. Hahah.

Just got home camping with [MENTION=123332]Drunner97[/MENTION] and took me almost 2 hours to get most of the mud out. It's going to take me a week to clean Lucy Pearl. It didn't help getting stuck in the mud after diablo drop off. Had the locker on 4lo and still spinning making it rain with mud. Thanks to drunner for getting us out.

Thanks [MENTION=77357]85straight[/MENTION] for putting the run together and those that came out to make this one epic. I want to go through sandstone canyon and see what's on the other side. Another reason to come back.

Thanks [MENTION=117408]Oneluv13T4R[/MENTION] for leading fish creek and testing us through the narrow canyon. I want to go through next time. I have a bent gas skid plate to prove it.

Off topic to this run my wife is finally convinced to trade our Crv for a....4th gen. Was leaning towards a taco but decided against it as I can't justify the extra $ everybody wants for them
