Anza-Borrego > January run?

Sadly, the site hack/restore lost us posts from a couple folks who I think were interested... plus we hadn't settled on a weekend or run...

So, who wants to go, where, when?

January 6th is a new moon, which is lovely for night sky if there was a Saturday overnight. But for me most weekends in January would work.

I'm trying to get out about once a month to get to know my vehicle and some of the local runs.

Met up with [MENTION=272937]jimmynotjim[/MENTION] in November and had a fun run out to Sandstone Canyon from the Split Mountain side (out Fish Creek Wash). Last weekend, [MENTION=175179]2112 R[/MENTION] and [MENTION=280424]4runnerfiend[/MENTION] joined me for a great run of Diablo Drop Off from Canyon Sin Nombre.

So who wants to go, where, in January? Which weekends work?

Not sure if it'd be January, but [MENTION=175179]2112 R[/MENTION] and [MENTION=272937]jimmynotjim[/MENTION], it'd be fun to do a pre-teen family outing at some point also...

I work every Friday/Saturday. I have Sundays off, but occasionally work overtime. My next free Sunday is 1/20
 
Last trip was super fun. I'd like to get out in January, the 6th doesn't work for us.. Got family in town till the 7th!!! Happy Holidays. My wife goes back to school I believe the end of Jan. so it middle would be the sweet spot for us. Camping trip would be awesome! got a new roof top tent I need to break in.

I'm up for just about anywhere, I know Anza Borrego is super big and have yet to explore more of it.
 
Don’t know if I’ll be getting out much cuz I need to get my truck ready for KOH first week of February. But I’ve been out there a lot so if you need any advice I’ll talk your ear off hahah
If you guys have sliders and willing to put a dent in the rear bumpers sandstone canyon is by far the best trail out there when you take it all the to it’s end

We went out to Sandstone Canyon in November and last weekend, both trips. In November, we couldn't get past Trails Offroad waypoint #5 in stock vehicles. Last weekend, that waypoint looked improved & like maybe it'd be worth trying in a stock vehicle. But no way is a stock vehicle getting past waypoint #6 (Big Slide)!!!

Waypoint 5 is really really easy. Could do that in a crv. Just need to see someone else do it to get your confidence up. Waypoint 6 ( the start of the trail really) used to be pretty difficult but someone has made it really easy now. Actually really disappointed on how filled in it is. A lifted 2wd with a locker and no armor made it. In late October we made it past where trails off-road says it ends

Put sliders on your list and willingness to learn and I’ll take you all the way back no problem
 
I’m interested just let me know when. My suspension should be here within the week and then Im going to KOH at the end of the month but any weekend between then is good for me.

Other than Jan 6-7 I should be free .... pending kids sports schedules.
 
I've got plans for a family fishing and camping trip up in the lower Sierras the 18-21 (also catching the lunar eclipse) and then a scout campout the 26-27. Any other weekend should be open.
