Yeah I’m stock hight open diffs. Good amount of experience. I’m not timid but am responsible. So if a lift plus lockers is needed may be out of my range currently.

That’s just calcite mine. That’s to the north. The ones I listed are not to tough. Diablo drop off is a mild 1/4 mile descent.

Dang no can make it. Wife’s got a final next week and couldn’t get grandma to cover. A planned weekday could be good for me too I got tons of PTO saved up. Have fun out there if you go.

Well it wouldn’t have worked out because I came out to my Runner this morning and found a huge lag bolt in one of my tires. No way in hell I’m wheeling without a spare. Weekdays are usually better for me, I typically work a week on week off schedule.

Anyone ever hit up superstition?

I've messed around superstition. Not my vibe. Too many RZRs and bikes mobbing around. Some cool rocky hill climbs, the dunes are fun and there are some small canyons to try to wiggle around. But just too much going on that I feel like I can't relax and my head is always on a swivel.

Might be in for Sunday....
I'm in Carlsbad too, you talking about leaving Carlsbad at 7 or San Diego ?

Hey Stranger! haha.
That was from last week don't think that guy is coming.
Only person that has responded is 2014 Warthog. Not sure his plan but he is up in Escondido, which maybe a good place to meet up. it looks to be on the way out.

I might be down to go. Departure time would be from Carlsbad. I’ve been in talks with my brother about camping Saturday somewhere but I’m not sure that’s happening due to possible rain.

Sweet, I'm the new'b around here so do you have any routes you would prefer/suggest?

Well the canyon sin nombre/drop off/fishcreek/split mountain is nice. Then maybe the Salton Sea Test Base if there is time.

Or there is the slot canyon tour with a little hiking. Slots near the SVRA (With a TINY bit of Maob back there!) Then over to the palms, pumpkin patch, and the truck haven trail. Then either the slots there or maybe take the Jeep Safari Trail.

There is a MAJOR drop off near the first slots. Honestly it scares me a little :D I usually go around the back side and avoid it. It's difficulty varies from year to year though. The "Drop Off" into fish creek used to be a lot harder 20 years ago. It's completely graded down now...

All that sounds good. I’m down for almost anything. I’ll have my kids so nothing to high rollover prone.

Had some left over mud in the washes.

Those 30+ driver runs seem to take hours for prep, talk, rig drooling etc, and I just want to hit the sand/dirt asap.

This comment cracked me up. We went with our sons subaru group off roading and we wondered if they actually drive or just stop to chat/vape. I swear they didnt drive more than 30 feet and stop for 30 minutes.
