This event was amazing. I went to the first one back in 2015, and it has grown exponentially since then. There were more than 700 attendees, and over 400 rigs. FJs were most prevalent, then 5th gens. Tacomas and 4th gens were next, with a few LCs as well. The event was well organized and staffed. The food was decent. The live bands they had Friday and Saturday night were great! The vendor prize give-aways were unbelievable! I believe there was more than $100k worth of product given away. I sat in on a couple of good classes, with a couple more that I missed because I was having too much fun on the trail.
Speaking of the trails; if you have never been to Windrock, they have mix of trails, color coded for difficulty (green, blue and black). The green trails are basically rough gravel roads, and someone in a Subaru Outback could probably have a really good time on them. The blue trails have probably the greatest variance of difficulty--ranging all the way from a 'green trail with a few obstacles requiring low range 4x4' all the way to 'probably should have been a black trail.' I did some 'moderate blue' trails Friday, some 'difficult blue' trails on Saturday, and 'more-difficult blue' trails Sunday. All three days, I was the shortest and least-modified vehicle in our groups. Despite that, with some spotting, there was not a single trail or obstacle I wasn't able to easily get through that the higher and more modified rigs went through. I am continually amazed at the capabilities of a relatively stock 4Runner, and ATRAC, while not a locker, is still pretty dang good. I have already blocked off the weekend next year, and I'll be going back again.

I got to use my new C4 bumper and Warn winch!
I am very pleased to report that the Wilco hitchgate performed flawlessly, and didn't take a single hit, or spoil my departures from any obstacle. That was my main concern when I got it, but, after this trip, I am very happy with it.
