ARB 63 qt in a 5th Gen?

Has anyone put a 63 qt in a 5th gen? I mocked up the size according to specs and it doesn't seem to fit but it's pretty close. So does anyone actually have one in their cargo area, with the controls facing out (not sideways). I have the cargo slide tray and that may be affecting my length just enough to make it too tight. I also can not count on laying down the rear seats because there are usually 4 of us. As a matter of fact my son likes to lean his rear chair back and go to sleep, but I can always put the fridge on the other side from him. I think I would really prefer the 63 to the 50.

Anyway, anybody have a pic of a 63 qt squeezed in the back of a 5th gen with the rear seats in the upright position? Thanks!

I have the 50 and I'm shocked by how much I can fit in there- no ice...
Cargo space is valuable as well and I think the 50 is just the right balance in the cargo area. It'll be more efficient than a bigger fridge too (though I'm sure it's not much). Just my .02 because I contemplated the 63 too, glad I went smaller!

I appreciate that. And I think you are probably right. After mocking it up I am not sure that I will have a choice anyway. I am happy to cycle beers through, but with the wife, a 2 year old and a 7 year old, I not only drag around a lot of food/snacks/drinks but also "choices". And I know the 63 takes up a bit larger of a foot print but I like the wide and shallow better than the deep and I figure I can utilize the space on top the 63. Honestly though, like I said, I think it is moot. I have been searching and searching and can not find pics of someone with a 63 and the seats erect.

Now it is a matter of finding a good deal on the 50, which also seems a bit elusive.

Thanks. I talked to them yesterday. No dice. Granted I inquired about the 63, but the deal was not that good ($1037 -> $963). Maybe I will inquire about the 50. I was hoping to get the 50 down around $700 or so.

I think you got lucky once there. They usually exclude ARB in most if not all their sales.

Ok. It looks like ARB no longer does the monitor giveaway. Too bad. And AutoAnything doesn't even sell it. I got the 50 down to $751.79 and the thermal cover to $108.21 for a total of $860 shipped. I don't think that is too bad of a deal.

How does the Domestic compare to the ARB? I have read a number of reviews that they were not near as good, use more power, longer to cool, etc. Any experience with these???

I would seriously consider the Indel B. The ratings were just as good as the ARB, same compressor and a lot less expensive. $630 shipped (you just missed it for $450 shipped in the group buy last week)

So I bit the bullet and bought the ARB. Got them down to raigt at $750 shipped. A bit more than a number of the other options people suggested (which I appreciate) but after some due diligence I just felt compelled to go with the ARB - power usage, direction of opening and accessories were all factors for me. Anyway, that is what I ordered.

I do not have it yet but since I am planning a Texas to Florida trip over spring break with the kids, I am going to be moving pretty quickly to get it installed. Questions will follow!

Basically a little camera that sends video to your phone. You can watch other people eating your snacks and drinking your beers. :cheers: Really not that much fun. :Cry: This is why they were giving them away for awhile.

It's a small screen that you can mount somewhere to monitor fridge temp and status- uses Bluetooth.
ARB has it on their website under fridge accessories.
