ARB Compressor question

Any news on this yet Adio3x? I just got a killer deal on a slightly used rear locker from an FJ guy and am going to need to be putting one of these in soon. Keep us updated!

Ha. Sounds like me. I always have a pile of stuff ready to go on my truck waiting for me when I come home for breaks. It's like Christmas every time I come home from school!

Hahaha yea, except I wish it was like Christmas and wasn't coming out of my own pocket lol.
O yea, anyone who is interested in the twin compressor, ARB advised me to get the manifold kit cause it tends to overheat.

I just try and over-look that fact and focus on the new toys.
I was on the phone with Ducmonsta today and he recommended a different (viair) compressor with tank as he said the ARB can lack power. I have heard a lot of mixed info about this as it seams there isn't a TON of info out about this compressor so far. Some say it is great for lockers and airing up, and others say it can't handle airing up. So I am interested in what you will find with this. The nice thing about going with a ARB compressor is easy integration with ARB lockers.
In short, what I am trying to say is thanks for being the guinea pig!

Yea I was looking at harper viair setup. But then I was told once I got the manifold it would have a little extra power with the twins. For right now it'll be used just to air up my tires. But front and rear lockers are up next on my to do list :tongue:

I'm still in the research phase of this... haven't pulled the trigger yet. As mentioned before.. Andrew (adio3x) is our guinea pig on this

That 'manifold' kit looks like a mini tank. If it is, it would reduce load on the compressor a little.

Yea its just a mini tank you can use for airing up and for lockers.
This is what the arb tech said: I'd also recommend you pick up the manifold kit we offer under part# 171503. This offers a small tank for additional air capacity with additional ports and also reduced temps at the fittings. The coupler can get quite warm at the compressor heads.
I'm not going to be the first one doing this... Philly2d or adio3x will beat me to it.... and I'm too interested in their experience in mounting this bad boy. I'm not planning on running a tank other than the "manifold' kit that has been discussed above.

Mine is in house but will be installing at the same time as the ARB rear locker so it will be weeks, not days before its done. But just by hand fitting the compressor it does not seem such a big deal installing it as mentioned before, with the right bracket. I don't yet have the manifold kit but there should be enough room for both.
Honestly, considering going with a duel battery set up along with a aux fuse box there does not seem any other logical place to install within the engine compartment.
