ARB supplmental fog lights, altertate locations...what you got?

so winter time is rolling around again, things are foggy and damp, and it reminded me that my lighting for snow and fog conditions sucks pretty bad , my general lighting is great with hella 550's and 4x 60w hids on the roof, but i need some ambers for the fog, and can't think/see a good place to mount a couple small amber lights to the bumper, the normal location is already taken by the hellas....and i also don;t want them getting gutted by a rock or anything so hanging low kinda scares me....got any ideas? what have you done?

I say ditch the hellas for some Rigid Amber Dually's in there spot and stick an LED light bar across on your light tabs

haha...lazy and photobucket already drops the img codes in for you.....

so can you invert the light bar on the light tabs like you have it? meaning can you have the light bar down near the grill area instead of up over the hood?
i was considering that but not sure how it would look.

There might be some way to do it with a 20" and a little fabrication but a 30" would be too long. Another option is you could get a 20" Rigid light bar on the bottom in place of your Hella's and buy their amber lens cover. Then just snap it on when you need to.

i have been pondering this same dilemma for when i get my ARB... right now i have a set of PIAA 940s, they have the dual h3 bulbs, on side is for driving lights and the other is for fog, and they work great on my brush guard, but they are not going to work in the arb bumper without some serious cutting and i dont think i want to do that. i do however have a set of PIAA 980s that im thinking of mounting in the lower section of the bumper. their is already a cut out there and i think these fit right in that cut out, i know that spot is for air flow and maybe for lifting with a hi-lift but yeah i want better lighting. my IPF 800s are going where your hellas are, and they are way too bright for on road driving.
right now i have my PIAA 940s set up so the driving lights come on when the key is turned on, and they are always on no matter what if the truck is on, and then i can turn on the fog lights(next to the driving light) if i want them for foul weather or rain. they do amazing. and this is how i want to keep the set up, so i like the fact that its a two in one light.

another option is a set of the PIAA 1400 in the Ion Plasma. they are a killer little light and even smaller than just one of the lenses on the 980s... i wish i had a set of them cause id just give them to you... i only have a set of the 1400s in the intense white and they are on the wifes car they are just as bright as the head lights and only 35w.

you can use sticky adhesive to mount them to the top of the bumper or you can hang them under the lip in between the winch fairlead and the bumper stops....

I have thought of these... Dually Flush Mount Flood - Set of two

For me, It's something I'd do cus the paint on this bumper is all scratched up from offroad. Therefor I'm not too worried about having to touch up with black paint.

The idea is to cut out a square with a plasma on the outside wings. Either in between the arb logo and marker light but lower down or cutting out around the ARB logo. That's if nothing is behind either spots.. This will shoot the light out at a slight angle. With a fog pattern it wouldn't matter anyways. I think the Rigids are heavy duty enough to sustain any kind of possible damage being on the face of the bumper. My truck sits high enough off the ground anyways so I don't see it being a problem.

let me know how that works out for you i was considering this as well, but was looking at it and can't find another good jack point on the front bumper anywhere , also let me check and see what i can get an ARB for you at, you may need to drive to renton or auburn to pick it up though

i dont mind driving up to get one... but i found a place online that i can pick them up with shipping for under $700 but im always down for a bigger better deal...

yeah, i think i paid $550 for mine (about 2 years ago) but i had to drive to ARB in renton to pick it up, i'm not sure if i can still get that deal or not, i'll ask this weekend and see what i can make happen for you.

i was thinking may cut holes in the bumper to mount some lights as well, but i want to wait until the whole things needs a powder coat until i do that sort of thing, it looks like it may be a year or so until it' there and i'm willing to start hacking on it. please post up pics of what you did!!!

Really interested to see where this thread goes, I have an ARB myself and I've always wanted to add some fogs and more "builtin" lights...
