Are 4th Gen 4Runners as macho as GM trucks?

I don't know about Trailblazers or Jeeps or any of that crap, but I had a 2500HD GMC and I loved that truck. Incredibly comfortable, loved having a diesel, great highway long distance cruising truck. But of course I sold it for a Toyota because the Toyota is more practical. So to me, a GM truck is way more macho and inflates the ego a lot more, but as with all Toyota products, you don't buy them for the macho factor, you buy them because they are practical, well-rounded, no-nonsense vehicles.

Having a GM truck and T4R I can say that the 4runner will never really get to experience some of the "macho" stuff my truck has. So its hard to compare the two. The 4runner is my wife's main ride, the truck is my ride. She would skin me if I ever took her runner to get wood, hunting, haulin' gravel, pulling the any one of the trailers, or anything like that. I did take it wheelin' this past weekend. I took it real easy but was surprised on how well it did being all stock. A vehicle can't make you macho, however it can get your ass kicked if you think it can.

To me (having owned both) the T4R has great potential in the macho arena. Look at Alexjet or Ulfr's rigs. As most of our T4R's sit they are more of a "speak softly carry a big stick" kind of macho. The reliability & capability (in stock or near stock form) is pretty incredible. When I see one heavily modded T4R I do see macho because it actually works. It fits down trails, crawls through narrow, rocky trails, kicks butt on the beach, goes through the mud etc. and isn't always breaking. It's less show and more go than some other vehicles...

When I see a crew cab GM/Ford/Dodge riding on 42's I think compensation for inferior anatomy. Where I live those trucks are too big for the trails, they break often, you can't get in and out of them and so forth... Now, I drive a Cummins and one of the last 7.3L PSD's, both chipped. They are very macho and cool but in a pulling kind of way...

Which is more macho? I don't know... What's more attractive? A smokin' hot Asian girl posing on a crotch rocket or a "Baseball, Mom and Apple pie" girl posing on a Harley? Ginger or Maryanne? It's just different!

Your not comparing apples to apples in the first paragraph. If someone with a GM/Ford spent the same amount of money that Ulfr and Alexjet did, then I'm sure they would be badass too.

Really, you guys need to drive a more exclusive car to realize this. no one cares about the 4runner or any of hte other cars listed here.

x2. In today's world, if you drive a truck, then someone is laughing at you for such poor investment!

And when you do drive something that is a bit more exclusive, you need to be careful where you take it. In today's world, having a "unique" vehicle can be harmful to you and your family. There have been more than a few stories of thieves following some rich guy's car home and robbing them. It creates needless attention. Therefore, my daily driver remains my Sienna (me) and Corolla (wife).
