Are there any Utah 3rd gen owners out there?

I am about to start my build and I would love somebody to give me some pointers, and somebody to show me some good trails.

Everybody has to start somewhere. Whenever I do someone else's work I always try to teach them as I go.

That sounds like a decent lift but I guess a better question is gonna be what is the focus you plan to be Doing with your runner???

I want something that can do anything. It is my dd but I would like to be able to go offroad with her and have some fun as well.

Right well we can get you set up good. There are a bunch of different options. Just depends on how much your wanting to dump.... Um.... I mean "invest" into your rig

I'm looking hopefully under 800 for now.
Something that will just be good on road and look good, but will also do a good job on some fairly mild trails like af canyon. ya know?

My work schedule is always changing but if I have day off then I am more than willing to come by and help. The link that Snivilous sent you for desert runners is a great local site with awesome guys. We try to get out regularly for at least a little fun. If you have any questions or need help with anything feel free to PM me and I'll try to help.

Don't be hasty, though... before you start talking about a lift, lets get your truck dirty. You may find that offroading isn't your cup of tea, or you may find that the setup you're planning isn't going to be nearly enough .

I always suggest that new guys wheel their stuff stock at least a couple times before diving into the mods.

^^^^This! A stock 4Runner can go alot more places than people think they can. Getting to know your vehicle and what you are wanting to do with it is a defninite must.

Maybe once I get my sliders on we can get together and go play at snakes or AFC?

Agree with this fully. Cause you might just get to be in my case where I should have done more cause I can wheel harder than the lift I got wants to dish out sometime.

(But then again I want to wheel like I am on tons and 42s lol)

I've had my ride since it was new, and have never really done any off roading. Fireroads and snow duty has been about it.

If there's some local stuff a stock rig with an old noob at the wheel can handle, count me in.

Well I had a 98' for a year, then I sold it and got a subaru. Shoulda kept the t4r. But the one I have no is much better I would say I wheeled it but I definitely went on trails and put my 4wd to good use.

I am definitely down to take her out though. I've been wanting to go up AFC for a while but haven't wanted to go alone. To boring. Lets all go?
