Yeah crazy! There's a nice limited 4wd green one on ebay now, that didn't meet its mimimum and went on auction again. Highest bid before (not accepted) was about $12, 795! Albeit it was in Very good shape w/only about 83K.

I would say that people need to lay off the pipe...but someone will come along and pay those prices

These cars are holding / going up in value I've noticed (I check CL weekly for the past 2 years).

Everyone is beginning to realize that these trucks go 200k with just oil changes, and spark plugs. Haha.

The second one seems like a pretty good deal actually... I would buy it if it were not canadian spec, I paid 10k for my 99 limited with 98k on the clock and that was a pretty good bargain for around here. I don't think you guys understand that clean 4runners are becoming far and few between and for that reason these people who have kept theirs nice can command these premium prices. Right now I'm looking to upgrade to a clean one like these and then it will be my trail rig which means no more terrible wisconsin winters for it.

So it sounds like my purchase of a 1999 Limited with 121k for $6995 might not have been that great of a deal after all. No body rust, but some rust on the undercarriage parts which is to be expected. No major rust on the frame with most of the coating in tact. Oh well... Only thing I think mine needs is a muffler.

I just paid $7k for an 01 Sport Package SR5 4x4 that is pretty clean with 161K miles on it. Anything lower in price needed body parts replaced or were just ragged out with dirty interiors, missing bits, and no working A/C in my neck of the woods.

Just goes to show you that you can't buy quality for cheap. I'm just glad I don't live in Canada. Even with the exchange rates those are some steep prices even with the mileage factored in.

No that was a steal for the midwest...

Thanks guys, I was battling with buyer's remorse, but after reading more on the forum and some initial maint (air filer, fuel inj cleaner) I am feeling better about the purchase.

Only issue is a muffler (just has a bit more of rumble so it's not bad yet), but I didn't realize I may need shocks/coils which sucks. I have some moderate sway when going over uneven ground. This is a daily driver so I am not going to worry about it now, but it might need addresses later down the road.
