4Runner is unofficially for sale again. After Rock Therapy, I realized that I want to wheel harder than I am comfortable doing in the runner, and that means I get to have a tow rig. I just redid the brakes, alignment, balanced the wheels and tires, and changed the oil and filter so she is ready for her new owner. Shoot me an offer if interested. EDIT: Also reinstalled stock rear bumper and painted it matte black to match the rest of the black on the truck.

First off, I am very sad to sell her. She has been my baby for the last two years. There have been two previous owners. The original owner owned the vehicle for 13 years before selling it to his brother who owned it for a few months. I then purchased it from his brother. I have put lots of time and money into her making her the ultimate camping/weekend warrior/mall crawler truck. Currently, it has 159,000 miles on it, but that will increase as it is my daily driver. Below is a list of modifications, my service manual, and other information that makes this 4Runner so unique. All modifications are about one year old, or less. I change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles with full synthetic oil rated for 5,000 miles. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive this runner cross country, wheel it, and drive it home today. It has seen many camping trips and would make the perfect family camping vehicle/teenagers car. This thing is rock solid.

BASICS:
First off, the heat blows hot and the A/C blows ice cold! The interior is in good condition as well as the exterior. The 4wd works perfectly. The engine is sound and quiet. She does 80 mph on the freeway without any issues. Comes with factory installed e-locker (differential locker), cloth interior, floor mats all around (including the hatch/trunk area) and the rear window/sunroof is fully functioning and rolls down and up without issue. Comes with a full size matching spare, which is unused. It has about a 3” lift in the front, and 3.5” in the rear. Steel front bumper, rock sliders, and skid plates are installed for extra strength.

Sold

Last night was our last night together. We spent many hours reminiscing over the times we had, the fights she's one, and all the shiny things I've bought for her, but ultimately we just weren't right for each other. She had her aspirations, and I had mine. This is something we could no longer ignore. We had to face the truth that we just weren't meant for each other. I cried. She stood strong like the beast she is. Maybe our paths will cross again one day. :violin:

But for real, the runner went to her new home last night. A buddy of mine bought her and honestly, she couldn't have gone to a better home. He and his new wife already have a CVT RTT to put on her, and he has some great plans for this build. Of course, I told him he had to get on t4r if I sold it to him, so keep a lookout. I'll still post pictures of my crawler, as well as my next project.

Also, a big thanks to everybody on here. When I got this, I was 18 and had never even changed my own oil. I've done significantly more at this point thanks to the writeups and assistance of everybody on this site.

**PS Connor wanted my adjustable panhard but he didn't get that, so that still makes me happy.

Haha. That seems to be the number one thing people are curious about. I have mixed emotions. it's a hard start if it hasn't run in the last 24 hours. The propane doesn't stay in the fuel lines, so I have to pump the gas like no other to start it, but once it's running, I can turn it off and right on again. I know how to fix the issue to, but I just haven't been too bothered by it. It runs strong, but does run a little hotter than gas. The only thing I really dislike filling the tanks. It's just a pain in the ass to take the tanks off and put them back on every time. Again, just minor things, and overall I like it.

Once I get some cash (just got robbed by my next semester), I'm going to rebuild the motor, trans, and tcase, and while I'm at it, throw on a turbo.it more than makes up for the 10% power loss you'd experience on the EFI motor, you can run higher boost because the propane is higher octane and does not have fuel delivery problems like the EFI setups in stock form. The propane eliminates the electronics, etc. and can handle the higher compression & boost.

Hi all,

I was trimming up my pinch welds today and had the plug that is in the front wheel wells crack and fall to pieces. I've been looking online the last hour, and I called the dealership. Neither got me any closer to finding this part. I'd rather not hit the junk yard since they'll likely be just as shitty being 20 years old. Anyone know where to find these or he part number? Thanks!
