As of 2019, what is the recomended Transmission Fluid?

Where are you guys buying Toyota Type T-IV? Would Aisin Type T-IV be as good? It seems to be cheaper. I mean Aisin made the transmissions in the first place so it should be right?

I got mine from the Toyota dealer for about $7/qt.

I think synthetic fluid is the way to go with any type of oil.

Resealed the tranmission pan with new FIPG and did a transmission fluid flush as well since I replaced the radiator earlier this year from the original as preventative maintenance. When i did the flush from the tranmission cooler lines i used valvoline maxlife atf synthetic. Tranny shifts fine, to finish it off ill be adding the magnafine inline transmission filter soon on the output/going back to transmission line...mainly because i forgot to put the magnets in after i cleaned them when i had to pan off. eep:

It's likely just an Aisin sticker on someone else's fluid. T-IV is nothing special, even when compared to Dexron 3. Tons of Euro and Japanese cars use it under the spec of JWS 3309. When I had a Volvo 850 T5 the original spec fluid for that bulletproof aisin box was Dexron, but eventually Volvo replaced that original spec with 3309. Actually stayed red longer than with plain jane Dexron as well.

But yeah WS in an A340 is way too thin. You never know something can go wrong in communication.

I would put the inline filter in the line going to the cooler.
