ass sags

I'm new here, and I'm looking to buy 01-02 pretty soon. I know that most older 4runners have the back ends sagging down big time and I think it looks horrible. Was this issue addressed beginning with a specific year, or is it something that all will do over time? I've searched but came up empty-handed, thanks

Well, over time, most SUVs will sag a little due to rear springs wearing out. This sagging issue was mostly addressed when the 3rd gen 4runner came out...the previous generations sag a lot!

Furthermore, after 1999, 4runners received changes in it's rear suspension (involving new springs and bumpstops) that made the rear less likely to sag.

However, if you have a hitch in the back or if you tow a lot, then your 4runner will tend to sag over time (slowly though).

So, if you're looking at a '01 or '02 4runner, then i would not worry too much about the sag issue.
