Which trail are you running up there, [MENTION=97836]concretejungle[/MENTION]? I used to live in Woodland Park, before moving back to the mid-west. Also, if you turn west (left) on Painted Rocks Rd. a few miles before you get to the Rainbow Falls area, there are some good trails back there that not many people every seem to find. It's a pretty extensive network down there. Just head off on the of the FS roads and there are quite a few branch offs.

I would like to go and learn some of those trails better ( I used to work at Casys Lumber ). But the front half of my lift is still in the mail . Have fun.

Illinois Gulch is the name of the main trail that I'm going to hit. And what are these other trails like? I won't be able to hit those anytime soon but should I try to do that someday?
 
what suspenion did you get?

Tundra Bilstein 5100s all around ,OME 891s and tundra trd coils. It's the trd coils I'm waiting for.

Yea I had fun on that Moab hill. My open diffs had a lot of fun making it up that. Got hung up on the big rock spot, needed some larger tires to make it easier. Spend a few hours going up and down it. The rest of the trail is really cake so you will play there the most.
 
Yeah it's the easy stuff that we want to play in mostly because my friend has a lifted Sequoia and wants to get into off-roading. I've hit Moab Hill several times in my life. Always willing to hit it again.

It should be noted that the weather Saturday afternoon in that area will be... SNOW!

I would be interested in coming. I am experienced off road but NOT experienced in a manual tranny. So the more practice the better. Is this still happening? Where are we meeting? When? Hopefully stock will be able because I am in a stock rig, but that's because I drive over 100 on the freeway:mod:.

Thanks for the suggestion but I got a set yesterday. Fully assembled struts with 76k on them for 46$ each. If I had not all ready bought the 5100s I would have made do with them for awhile. O well, do it right, do it once. :)

Yeah this is still happening. And seeing the weather forecast, we play on doing a little bit of muddying maybe? rather than any real rock crawling, which this trail doesn't have a lot of anyways. This would be a great trail to practice with the new the tranny on.

We're meeting in Black Forest at 1 because that's where we all live but you can meet us anywhere on the trail, including the trailhead. PM if you want my number and I can shoot you a text when we get to your area.

I have to add, this is going to be an odd group. We're mostly a bunch of high schoolers that have smaller, less capable rigs. There are a few of us experienced guys with giant, extremely capable Jeeps coming too. Some guys don't like wheeling with high schoolers or Jeeps. Just a heads up.
 
Please let me know where you are meeting at in the Black Forest. I can't make the run but I would like to meet you guys. I don't know how any of you stay in school living here. I would have been kicked out for missing too many days
 
I'm not sure about the trail tomorrow, even mud, because it looks below freezing with heavy snow and high winds. Not sure about off roading in a white out!

We generally meet at my house. I live near Section 16 (if you're familiar with BF area)

Well we'll just have to see. We have the necessary equipment to get out if needed, but I doubt we'll put ourselves in a bad situation to begin with. I've learned (mostly through bad choices) about what to look put for. Luckily this isn't a hard trail to begin with. Thanks for the heads up too.
 
Spring Break Trip Update

Well, it was really snowy after we got off the trail. It was really bad. The canyon on 67 was stopped dead for an hour and a half due to several accidents. We just chilled there.

However, the trail was pretty great before the storm. Several other Jeeps and Yotas up there too. Moab Hill was awesome.

You guys missed out!
