94 4runner new engine

Got a new old 94 4runner for a project and thinking about a new engine.

What's a good V6 or V8 replacement?

Cheers

Does anyone else have a 4runner with 253 v8 in it and what else have you guys converted too? Thanks

Heh yeah it's too tough and it's a 1UZFE LS400 in a 924runner. I'm from Newcastle NSW and sorting out a kings winch for my bull bar over the next few weeks so I can go bush with some peace of mind in getting out of where I got into...
I swapped 32" mudies for 33"yoko geolanders for bitey road daily driving, but their tread is not as bitey in slippery stuff offroad

Hi mate, Where'd you get your 1UZFE Lexus V8 engine from?
On Gumtree I found my 1UZ in NSW Newcastle a mechanic at Heatherbrae finding toyo v8 motors to turbo and he found the UZ donor on a farm at Rutherford out Maitland way, the mech guy has his scouts and adz out for his main business of turboing second hand jz's, which is his specialty mech work.

Just thought I'd start a thread to see how many Aussie's are on the forum.....

New Sydney member here, signed up to post my Gen 2 2.8 for sale with a sized engine. Sad but no time to fix has 33" muddies, lights, ss snorkel, steel rool out drawers in rear. roof rack, custom HDPE drinking water storage mounted on roof under rack. Anyone's interested send us a message.

Thanks

Hi all
Long time listener, first time caller, from NW Tassie.
Bought me an '89 last year to play in the bush with. Was just sitting at a rural property for 4 years before I got it, the young fella who owned it had grown bored of 4wding. He'd just had the motor and gearbox rebuilt before abandoning it, and still kept the rego up every year. Picked it up for a song. Mechanically sound, just a bit rough, needed a little TLC. Found this site, it's now my go-to for tips, found it really helpful and thought I may as well join up.
Here's my beast just after I bought it
