Aussies get the cool stuff!

I ran across a post from someone in Australia complaining that they don't get the 5th Gen 4Runners, so I went to toyota.au to see what they get inplace of the 4runner, and came across the LandCruiser 70!

Man, that thing is way cooler then anything we get here in the US! I love that super-utilitarian interior they get (Which may look cheap, but is actually rugged, instead of looking cheap, and not being rugged like the 5th gens interior)

I also love the 4.5L diesel engine with 430 torques, the Manual Hubs, Manual Transmission, and standard Front and Rear lockers!

I hate how we never get the good vehicles in the US, foreign or domestic...

Yeah, they come with a lot of great stuff...but then they put the steering wheel on the wrong side again (LOL)! We fought a revolution just to get our steering switched from the way those silly Brits wanted it, and you want to go back? (that WAS why we fought, wasn't it?) Seriously, though, it would be awesome to buy a set-up with a powerful diesel, manual tranny, and factory lockers in BOTH diffs!

Yea part 2 gets into the interesting stuff, too bad the video quality is not great.

Even though they had more good things to say about the LR off road, I think I would rather have the LC as well. Not that it matters, we will never have a chance to own one of those....

I wounder how a stock 4runner Trail, with good tires would handle those obstacles compared to the LR and LC.

Out of curiosity has anyone ever heard or personally priced a unit to get shipped overseas? Wonder what that would cost.

Also I have never had the satisfaction of driving a right hand drive vehicle. I swear that has got to be an odd feeling.

Any rig with traction control or locker could handle that climb easily, and any truck with open diffs is going to need momentum to get up that.

That video is a raft of crap, by the way. The Defender has traction control, and you can see it kicking in when it climbs. To purposefully attempt the same climb in the 70 series with axles unlocked and then say that means something is just stupid.
