Auto Headlights

I have a SR5 v8 2008 4runner, and not buying the "limited," I have to turn on the lights. Now, this is not a laziness problem, I just would hate to forget some night to turn them on for lit city driving and get a ticket; or worse, an accident. Has anyone done an auto sensing headlight mod? I don't want to just leave them on all the time. Thanks!!

If I'm not mistaken, all T4Rs have a feature where all lights turn off automatically after EDIT: 30 *seconds* (thx AKA and Cali). So no worries there I do have a limited but the only time I use the auto feature is if i twist the swith too fast/hard. I keep mine on all the time.

Do a little experiment for me. Start your car, turn on the lights and then turn the car off (leaving the lights on). get out of it :spider:, shut the doors, and then press the lock button on your keyfob once to hear the beeps. the lights should still be on. Press it again to do a double lock and your head and tail lights should turn off. This is the method I use to turn my lights off. Let me know how it work. I'm interested to see if yota put this feature on all models.

Matroe11 is correct. If you simply leave the lights on, then they will turn themselves off 30 seconds after you exit the vehicle or press the "lock" button on the remote twice (whatever is first). This includes the headlights AND foglights. I have the same model as you do (except mine's the V6) and that's what I do all the time.

On my '08, they turn off 30sec after the engine is switched off.
