Aux fuel tank

Hi, I was wondering why you just don't buy a aux tank that is originally made for the FJ or Prado 90-150 series? 4Runners, FJ and Prado all use the same frame right? I bought a Long ranger 87 liter tank from Australia and fitted it behind the rear axle of my FJ 5 years ago. Works flawless. I could imagine you would have to adjust some of the brackets to mount it under a 4runner, but that's not a big job. Move the spare tire onto the rear bumper, done. Will cost you about 2000-3000 dollars for both the tank and the bumper with swing arm for the spare, depending on shipping cost etc , but to that would be worth it if you wanna do some serious overlanding.

Because mounting a $100 Ford tank isn't that much different.

ebay, would need to dig to find it again. There are various styles you can find by googling. The thing was no more than 10 bucks IIRC.

Ok just toying with the idea of an f150 tank. I'm trying to make it as factory-feeling as possible, so a separate gauge is not what I'd want to do. What I'm think is retrofit the runner pump/sending unit into the aux tank and have a switch that switches both the sending unit circuit and the fuel pump power circuit from on tank to the other. So essentially, when one tank runs empty, you can switch to the other and the gas gauge will go up.
1)Anyone know where I can get a single switch that would control 2 circuits?
2)Anyone have input on retrofitting the t4r pump/sending unit into the f150 tank?
3)@Geohil do you have some more details about your filler neck setup? I can really visualize it. (I like what you did with the tank, btw)
