Aux MP3 player jack noise in 07

sorry to bump a dead thread, but has anyone been able to get this fixed after the factory warranty has expired.

I just looked up the parts, and the parts alone are $150.

Yes, it is an expensive dealership fix unless you are under warranty. BUT there are some good dealers out there....mine did it as a goodwill gesture. I think likely because we've been taking our trucks there for years.

Couldn't hurt to ask. If the problem only just showed up then explain that to them. If you only just bought the truck then that might help your case, especially if it's a Toyota Certified vehicle.

Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna try and take it to the dealership I bought it from first (non-Toyota dealership) to see if they'll fix it under their 3 mo/3000 warranty they give.

Sounds like a plan - the Toyota Certified vehicles come with something similar. So if it's bumper to bumper coverage and it covers the stereo and components (which would be reasonable) then you have a decent argument.

You might take the part numbers along with you if they seem utterly clueless about what the problem might be. And then give 'em the old puppy dog eyes and hope for the best
