Auxiliary Lighting

OEM foglight from Toyota 05 Tacoma.

The switch itself is like 30-40 bucks though :( that doesn't include the connector in the back or the slice lines...

I think that'll put you at $50 easily..

There's a thread on the button itself (part numbers etc etc)

Just got back from my supplier. Rallye 4000s are out of stock and they are backordered. As soon as Hella will get enough backorders they will make some more. So right now, Hella is out. What's left...? ...KC Rally 800 SS or IPF 900 XS.

Did you sell your 525's yet? I know it has been a while since you posted that, but I just came across this thread. Why are/were you getting rid of them?

The lights are sold long time ago. Sorry.
I was looking for something bigger (size) and diferent beam pattern. PIAA 525 is dual beam: Hi + Low. After I put HIDs in my headlights, I stop using Low in 525, so I went with Hella Rallye 4000 Euro beam.
 
As I am understanding it, the low beam is an amber-ish color, while the high beam is bright white. Is that correct? Also, is the LED that is in there somewhere noticable and/or defeatable? Sorry for all of the questions, but I don't know anyone around here that has put that much money into off-road lights to ask! :D

THANK YOU. You should see my truck in action. It has much more goodies then in signature (I'm not even remember them all)

Yes, Low beam has some yellow and Hi has some white/blue in it. Looks nice and yellow Low helps driving in snow/rain.
Wedge bulb (LED) has fantastic look, but if you want you can take it off or even out on separate switch.
 
here's the info on the taco switch

84160-04010 - Taco switch
90980-11090 - harness that clips to the switch that will hold the wire plugs
82998-12340 - wire plugs, 4 Req'd

can one of you mods make this info a sticky??
 
Thanks Lou! Is that everything that is required to hook up the 525's? The Taco switches fit into all the blanks we SR5 owners have, right? One last question. With that list, can you wire up the LED seperately like Alex was talking about?

Yes, those are normal auxiliary lights, just with HID bulbs. Fog lights you can use in everyday use. Driving will be for use in open roads without incoming traffic. Basically Fog lights are used as Low beam and Driving as High beam.
 
These say fog/driving. Does it just depend how you aim them? I am thinking of getting around all the controversy of HID lights in halogen assemblies by simply adding the HID Auxilliaries. I could them turn them on and off at will, and not affect the stock system. What do you think?

You better ask Xenon Depot of what type those lights are. They might be dual beam or either fog or driving lights.
That's a good idea of adding auxiliary lights in HIDs. In this case you do not have legal issues with HIDs and have nice cool auxiliary lights.

Thanks Alex, I will ask them. Do you think I can install them on the grill/bumper, or would I need some kind of bar? They look pretty small/low profile.

The round ones are 4", the flat are 5.5"x2".
Basically they are not heavy and you can mount them on the bumper. The only thing is that you'd have to make sure that you hood is still opening. The other options are: do a "floating design" (momo.75 done it) or get some sort of a bar, you can even install them in the lower grille, but would have to cut it a little. It's all up to you, what ever design you like and prefer. I'd stay for bumper mount if you don't want to get a bar.
