AVIC Z2 XM Radio with no sound?

Anyone have any ideas here? I installed an AVIC Z2 this past weekend in my T4R Sport. Everthing works great,Bypass is done and everthing is functioning as it should except my XM. I activated it and when it comes on it shows the title and artist on all stations but I dont get any sound. Below are the options I Have installed with the radio

Avic Z2 Bypass Compleate
Bluetooth
Ipod Adapter
XM Radio with Nav Traffic------ No Sound from this unit

its all for the avic series stereo's and this problem has been answered there i believe. Good luck!

Fixed it....My own fault. Bus Cable in the wrong location :bash:

What did you end up needing other than the Avic? Where you able to use your steering wheel controls? And, PICS!

i'll try to get pics of mine sometime...


I did the install myself and it was a breeze. All you need is a double DIN bracket made for our T4R's screw it on to the Z2 and then put everything back


You need to buy a seperate controller to use the steering wheel controls. I believe this was the only negative part bc the controller is only able to assign 1 function to each button (next, back, volume up, volume down , etc) where as before the buttons did multiple tasks (holding the up button would allow you to search on the radio (i think it's been a while ) and then hitting it once takes you to your programmed stuff...

(If you do the seperate controller to make use of the buttons, make SURE you use the correct resistor otherwise it wont work right)

How does that steering wheel control box interface and where does it go? Behind the head unit?

Stearing controlls a bit of a PITA but they work great
