Avital Remote Start Anyone???

I got $300 for my birthday last week to go toward a remote start for my 4Runner. I recently moved to Arizona and the summers are hot and the winters are cold so I wanted to be able to warm my car up before I got in it. the local shop (Ive done work with them once before) offered me a couple remote start options and the one I like the most is the Avital 4003. Shop is offering around $180 installed for it which is reasonble with installation. It uses factory remote and you press the lock button 3 times for it to start, which I love. I dont want an aftermarket alarm or a fancy remote start that can be done from a long distance, I dont care for that. Anyone use this produce in their car or have any problems?? I like for what it is the price, thanks guys!

I have the Avital 4103 and love it. It has a dedicated start button on the fob, and you can program all kinds of things to it. I had a groupon for it, paid $160 installed. It's made by DEI, which makes all the high end kits. Been over a year and not a single problem.

It has pretty good range, I can start it from my office on the 3rd floor, behind the building into the parking lot.

I have to ask what the hell is the point in a remote start with out a decent range to it? I agree that I like a factory style remote better than those giant battery eating screens that most of the units come with, but that's why I always order different "simple" remotes for my cars.

Exactly. If you have go outside for the factory remote to work, why bother? You're almost there!
