You are taking delivery of a 2013? What are the differences between it and a 2012?
I have not heard anything definite on the differences.

I get about 14.5 in the city and 17 to 18 on the highway with stock size Mud Terrain KM2's. I think the biggest issue with MPG and the 5th gen is the size of the vehicle. It is a BIG truck and I think the engine struggles at times to get it moving. Especially with any efficiency. TRD needs to get off their asses and get a supercharger into production! Then I possibly could get better mileage but won't because I will be flooring it all the time...
Mine is an SR5 and the only changes I noticed were moving the USB to the center console in front of the shifter, and the 4x4 selector is no longer a lever but now a knob that you turn similar to the limiteds.

I have a stock 2012 limited with about 1200 miles on it. I have filled the tank 3 times. I get 17.9 on 2 tanks with mostly city (about 80%) and 19.9 on 1 tank with about 60% highway.
I have found that the computer is very accurate on the overall mpg for an entire tank.

Here are the last few fillups calculated vs. computer (when I remembered). Impressive accuracy. Computer is probably more accurate than the pump, especially at Costco:jump:.

I've got an '11 sr5 that I've had since they hit lots late '10. I've run 89 octane 99% of the time a few times I've run premium. On average city I average 19-19.6 mpg. Thats by the trip tick.I don't calculate it around town. On highway trips I do calculate and compare to trip tick and find it usually spot on. Highway I'm usually 21.5-23 mpg. Winter blends bring it down. Worst I can remember was 16.4 towing a ~3500-3800 lb load. Yes I drive conservative...which brings me to my next topic.....
I notice nobody seems to be talking about that annoying idiot light. You know that green one....on the speedo.... Oh yeah the "Eco" light! It end to drive focused on keeping it lit most of the time. Probably one of the factors y some of us are getting such good mileage. Diving style I think is the biggest factor. I can get 21,22 doin 75 80 mph.
The other factor I feel is the tendency for tranny controller to shift early to keep revs under 3500 rpm's. If your keeping "Eco" light on. One of my dislikes . Forcing u to lean into if ya wanna take off at a decent clip. I'd like it if programmed shift points were a bit higher in rpm range at least in 1-3 rd gears.

I even looked at that Smartbooster mod. Though heard it is nice it's expensive and does require some work to install on gas pedal. But I think the idea might be perfect for those of you with lower mpg cause ur obviously into it a bit more. I believe Toyota does "detune" the drive by wire pedals to promote higher mpg...and thwart those of us who don't wish to drive it like granny's Buick on her way bingo night at the "home"! Thus we mash harder to get acceptable acceleration.
