I bought it for research. After looking at the options and a ton of reviews I felt I could design a better solution. Covid has slowed me down on that project with work and manufacturing options. Anyway...

You will run into fitment that is not ideal. The hatch on a 4R is not only tall but wide. Mine has even more issues since I have RTT and a ladder.

Go 5 arm not 6. Your hatch will hit a 6 arm. You will have to space it off to the side for the width not to hit the arm on a 5 arm as well, and mount it high.

Honestly a 180 is a better fit for a hatch

i didn't even think about the hatch. Looking at some products from Australia, they always seem to have better stuff. Not sure i would want to pay shipping though.

Another brand you can check out is Roam. I just recently got their 5' awning. I haven't had a chance to get out and use it but it fits perfectly on my LFD 3/4 rack and seems to be built really well.

This won't give you instagram cred, but it is way cheaper than most of these awnings, and you can easily put it on either side or rear of the truck...

Or completely divorced from the truck..

Installed the 8 ft. ROAM adventure awning on the Front runner Slimline II roof rack using the Easy-Out awning bracket. Fairly simply to mount, and looks like a decent kit that I hope to put to good use this summer.

I've been pretty happy with the 5ft. Last year we camped in Utah in some areas with absolutely no shade and the awning worked great.

Hello all. New to this forum. Just purchased my second 4Runner, a 2023 TRD Premier Pro. Love it! I’m looking to outfit it for camping so I would appreciate any good outfitting websites y’all can recommend. I have a pretty standard Yakima basket on the roof and the first thing I want to add is an awning. Been looking at the simple 8 foot awnings and also the 270° Awnings

I’ve been looking at the Rhino brand. Anybody have any pros or cons on the new models and product line?

Please be patient with me. New member who is trying to find his way around Any help appreciated.
