Axe/Shovel Interior Mounts

Has anyone mounted their Axe/Shovel on the rear hatch on the inside? Trying to get ideas and i know i have seen what i wanted before. but cannot find it anywhere i search. Let me see your interior pics of how you mounted! Thanks in advance.

I was looking into putting 2 of these on the rear hatch so I could mount a shovel, axe, or even an AR-15 (just for fun because its legal here haha. I just got distracted with so many other things that i never got around to it.

That would be awesome... too bad they dont have more info on them like weight limitations, etc

I'm sure it could hold a shovel or an axe. You'd just have to make sure wherever you screwed the clamps themselves into was a place that could support the weight. Theres also these for bigger stuff.

They are super heavy duty(thefirestore.com rates them at 22lbs each)- I've used them for years in the bed of my old truck to hold full size shovels, pulaskis, axes, etc. Never had them release with really rough wheelin. The weakest link is the screw, which is up to you to decide what type you want to use, and you could probably mount them with 2 screws each if you wanted...

They'll definitely hold and axe or shovel. I'd be more concerned about the struts holding the hatch up with the additional weight, especially on colder days.

Well if you've got aftermarket struts it wouldn't be as big of a deal, or if your stock ones aren't shot.

lol yeah that is definitely true... Perks of having parts connections and a full shop at my disposal makes things alot easier but thanks for the heads up cause i definitely think that would be something needed to be done before attempting to mount anything first.

I say go for it and then tell us how it works out for ya :hello: ...also I would for sure get stronger struts for the hatch and what size shovel and ax would you be Mounting I would get my military folding shovel and ax....

I have quality aftermarkets and in the cold they still dont hold that well. With any more weight I know it wouldnt be good. NTM they will fail even faster. I dont know about others but not much luck on finding a good replacement.

But ladders do not go on the inside of the hatch... they go on the exterior. So those would be different...

They're still heavy and would weigh it down.
