axle swap questions

Hello guys,

I am the new guy around here and I have an issue.
I have an 86 4-runner that has been put up wet so to speak. I have had it for a bout 15 years and its had a hard life.
I hit a culvert in it many years ago and the ifs on the left front has been giving me trouble since.
I have bought a frame and axles off of a 85 and have been thinking about doing the axle swap. The kits look expensive and way more beef than I need. This is a hunting vehicle for an old man now so no big tires or trail riding.

I just need to use it. I bought a new set of mud tires for it last year just before the welds on the ifs went out and the left frontend went down.

So here is my question, what is the best way (cheapest) for me to get this thing back up and running in what I would call semi-stock shape? Little highway driving and some light off road use.

Put the 86 body on the 85 frame would probably be the cheapest.

Or you can buy just the hanger kit, use the 85s rear springs on the front, add some shocks and highsteer, could have the axle under the truck for about 300-600 bucks. Or you could make all the hangers your self...It really depends on your skill level.
